Attention: Gluten Free, Allergic, IBS, and fat-friendly communities: This place is for you. TMI but relevant, I have been avoiding wheat as a sufferer of severe IBS. I get tired of the same old rice and potatoes meals, and finding a breakfast place that offers an amazing experience is difficult. I ordered a modified version of their Chorizo bowl with hollandaise and hashbrowns instead of rice. It was one of the best GF meals I've ever had, and certainly the best breakfast I've ever eaten. So many flavours, an amazing food experience where I, for just one day, didn't have to sacrifice anything. To add to that, the atmosphere was great, and the place was clean and lovely. If you are plus size like me, there are chairs available (and the booth tables are quite high, so I was able to squeeze in there too.) My server Hallie was bright and joyful and the staff are clearly happy here. I was verbally greeted by both greeters at the door and thanked for coming by every staff member who locked eyes with me. Hallie tells me her Celiac sister, who has been sick for days with cross contaminated foods from restaurants in the past, trusts this restaurant to do the full procedures for cross contamination avoidance. She assured me that they have a fully separate space set aside for this purpose and will accommodate any allergic and Celiac needs, and that they cook their items apart to begin with to facilitate this process being easier. Finally, I am a tea drinker, and I never had to ask for my pot to be refilled with hot water, nor was I asked if I wanted coffee at any point after I ordered tea! Refreshing. I can't say enough good things about the experience. I am an Edmontonian here on business, and was thrilled to find out that we have a location as well. I'll be headed there next time I have a need for a gourmet breakfast.

First time at this restaurant today. We started off with a little amuse-bouche, a mini waffle served with maple syrup and a berry jam I really liked. It wasn’t too sweet, which I appreciated. The waffle itself was soft and really tasty. For our actual breakfast, we both went for the eggs Benedict. Honestly, they were really well done, exactly what you’d expect from a good Benny. Since waffles seem to be one of their specialties, the eggs Benedict were served on waffles instead of the usual English muffin, which was a nice twist. Really good coffee as well. As for the duck fat potatoes, while they’re probably healthier, they tasted pretty much like regular hash browns you’d find anywhere. So maybe that’s one area they could level up a bit. One thing that was definitely missing from both our plates was fruit. You had to order fruit as an extra, but I think adding even just a few pieces of fruit or a bit more greenery to the plate would really elevate the dish. That said, the staff was super friendly and the space is lovely, bright and welcoming. Overall, we really enjoyed the experience. The breakfast didn’t feel as generic as it does in a lot of places around town, and the menu had a lot of interesting options. Definitely a spot I’d go back to for breakfast.

The Bro'Kin Yolk has very quickly become one of our favourite places to eat. We love that it is a local business that feels home grown and has a polish that rivals even the largest chain restaurants. The service is quick, professional, and personable and their wait system is outstanding (especially for a brunch spot). Instead of waiting at the door for anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour, The Bro'Kin Yolk has a call in wait list that saves your spot in line while you manage your time elsewhere. We feel like they value our time as much as we do ourselves. The food is incredible; it's tasty, fresh, and original. With a Filipino spin on most of their dishes, they have balanced the flavours perfectly between sweet, savoury, sour, bitter, and umami. My fiance's go-to dish is the bacon Bennie, while I can't get enough of their chicken and waffles. Although the prices have risen ever so slightly, the value for you dollar is unmatched here. We have never left here hungry, unsatisfied, or unhappy. Everyone should try those place at least once, and with 3 different locations in different quadrants of the city, there are no excuses!

Convenient location in the westside and lots of parking available. The food is okay but not great and I would have given this restaurant a higher rating if it wasn't for the poor service we received. Eggs over-easy shouldn't be slimy, but they were. The toast arrived on both of our plates unbuttered. We asked for coffee and water and were only brought coffee (I had to ask a waitress in another section if she could bring us water and only after waiting for about 5 minutes since our server took our order and was nowhere in sight). The coffee was good if a bit strong (I like strong coffee but not everyone does, so just be aware). The bacon was okay but has some kind of coating on it which was disconcerting and unexpected. Almost like a teriyaki or molasses taste to it. Like a smoky sweetness. It would have been better had we known (like if the menu said so) that that was what we'd receive. Bacon should not be soft and sticky. If you like crispy bacon, then don't come here. No pancakes on the menu which we found strange for a breakfast restaurant. The music was very loud which means that people at every table had to talk loudly which means the overall ambient noise in the place was very high. The hash (which it wasn't, hash is a mix of cubed potato and veg, lightly fried with salt) was just deep fried chunky potato that was over-salted, though the potato was crispy on the outside and warm and soft on the inside. Eggs Benny did not come on an English muffin -- English Muffin is a primary ingredient in Eggs Benny. This is just runny eggs on a dry waffle. The sausage choice was either a spicy chorizo (I don't like blood sausage) or a chicken apple sausage (chicken sausage is an insult to proper sausage everywhere). I would have preferred a maple pork sausage, but this place doesn't seem to want to conform to tried and true ingredients. It appears their butcher supplier is Spolumbo's, so I don't know why the sausage selection is so pitiful and bland. Did I mention no pancakes? Our waitress spent more time at a table with loud, younger girls than she did at the rest of her section. It cost $50 for two of us to eat (including a tip I didn't feel they earned) which is just too expensive for something that could be had at Phil's or Denny's or somewhere else (like prepared at home). Like I said, the food wasn't bad, it just wasn't good. The service was poor and the interior was loud both audibly and visually. I wouldn't go back unless I was feeling particularly nihilistic and post-modern that day and just didn't care about the rules. It is food for people who don't know that there are better options out there. This place lives up to it's name....

Sun Feb 16, 25.1130am. This is a regular stop for us, Food is always great, but unfortunately our last visit was somewhat disappointing. We called ahead as requested to book a table and the lady on the phone said "i can get you in in 20 mins" ,took my cell# and awaited the Tx to confirm as normal. After we received the conf tx and the tx that told us to come in the place was reasonably busy. However at that point we were the only couple coming in. We were told thst they were just sorting out our table n would be a few minutes. Fine. At this point we notice a small table opposite the bar that is ready and clean. We also see a larger table getting cleared at the back by the window. No attempt was made to sit us at the small table. By this time it was over 5 minutes.2 more couples and a single gentlemen came in. Again the waitress said "sorry a few more minutes"! As the minutes went buy we asked the head waitress if we could just grab the far table by the window but she said "oh were holding that for large groups"! One more couple came in and the waiting area was crowded & we were all looking around wondering what was happening! The staff seemed a bit frazzled and out of place. Looking at the tables hoping someone would leave! By this time we had easily been waiting longer then it took to drive here. Eventually a couple left behind the waitress station at the front and they said just a "few more minutes" but they had still not placed anyone at the small table or the large table as we sat down. it looked like a few moments went by when they seated a regular couple at the larger table. Ive heard this before about seating larger groups in booths, but why keep anyone waiting around that have already booked a table only to sit a couple there? I hope they can manage the seating better in the future. Standing up for over 10 minutes when it could of been...
