The Pig and Whistle Pub — Restaurant in Calgary

I was so glad to see a pub around the corner finally open up and even happier to find that it was a welcoming place with great food, friendly service, reasonable prices, and generous portions.

I have gone there as a couple and in groups for a bite to eat, a quick drink, or to enjoy their Trivia on Tuesdays and Music Bingo on Saturdays. I hear they might be bringing in Karaoke as well and I will definitely be there for that.

Mark, the Owner/Manager is extremely personable, always making sure everyone is enjoying their time.

If you are a Foodie, you will enjoy the large selection, quality, presentation, and pricing on the food. I have gone there numerous times with groups from 10 - 15 people and I always ask them about the food. These are always hits...wings, ribs, Caesar salad, poutine, lasagna, pizza, pesto penne, butter chicken, Thai chicken bowl, fish and chips, chicken club, jambalaya. Seriously, people have raved about everything EXCEPT the tacos...no one was a fan of those, but you can't get everything right.

They have daily specials and amazing happy hour specials that change daily. We were there on a Saturday for $10 appies and one of those could fill you up, but I opted for 2; the calamari which was crispy and loaded with breaded peppers and jalapenos. The bone-in ribs in the spicy parmesan sauce were probably the best ribs I'd ever had. Would have loved them boneless but there was still a lot of meat on them and it was all tender. Their chefs and cooks know exactly what they are doing.

I guess the only other comment I would have is that they are all high-tops and for we short people that can be a challenge, but there are lots of booths around the perimeter as well.

The best little pub in town!!! Mark is fantastic and he is always floating around checking in to see how your time is going. Wade is a great guy who loves his trivia nights on Tuesday!!!! And makes a great Moscow mule 🫏 🫏! New daily specials!! Wing nights on Wednesday if you like it hot well be prepared to 🥵🥵 very spicy!! But also a huge flavour selection for the not so spicy wing lovers. Like pb and j and of course all of your favorites! And my FAVORITE FISH AND CHIPS FRIDAY!!!!!!!!!! THE BREADING MAKES YOU BELIEVE IN JESUS!!! Miracles do come true the fish to breading ratio is just right and flakes away like a dream. Truly a testament to British fish n chips! The servers are always there with a smile and are always very polite especially Nicole and Amanda ! They are sweethearts that are always there with a smile and always makes the wife and I feel special. The burger is deadly! The food on new years was fantastic!!! It did not feel like we were at a corner pub. The gourmet food was well worth the price and we left with leftovers!! Including a sticky toffee pudding that brings me right back to London!! The pizza is also fantastic hard to say what food to pick when I walk in, between all the great options including the Yorkshire puddings! Never too busy and not too loud with a fun filled atmosphere most nights but on Tuesday is just right...

Fantastic New Pub in the Neighborhood!

I usually avoid going to places that have just opened, as my expectations tend to be low. However, my sister convinced me to give this new spot a try for lunch, and I’m so glad I did!

The bacon, macaroni, and cheese was simply phenomenal—rich, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. I ordered the Caesar salad with crispy chicken, and I was genuinely impressed. You can tell there’s a real chef in the kitchen, as the food was prepared with obvious care and attention to detail.

The service was equally outstanding. The two servers and the manager made us feel incredibly welcome, and it was clear they genuinely appreciated our visit.

Plus, the prices were quite reasonable for the quality of food and service we received.

All in all, I would highly recommend checking out this pub. It’s a great addition to the neighbourhood, and I’m excited to go back!
