Urban St. Donair — Restaurant in Calgary

First of all I was happy with the flavour of the beef. It's nicely flavoured and not bland like other donair places I've been. But with that being said I found a few issues I didn't care for with my donair. It could be due to the fact I picked it up and ate it 15 minutes after ordering but due to the beef being piping hot (which I appreciate) totally killed the veggies. I'm going to assume toasting it after filling it with veggies also killed the veggies so it seemed pretty unappetizing eating melted hot lettuce and tomato. If I were to get it again I'd either ask for it not to be toasted especially with anything that can wilt inside. Due to this I had a large sopping mess on my plate.

Another issue is the sauce they put on it. I'm not sure if it's supposed to be that way but there was a sauce on there that seemed like eggs. I assume it was garlic sauce but it was congealed so I thought it was a bit strange. No idea what it was but I wouldn't have it again tbh.

Also, wrapping of the donair. I found it strange that the donair wasn't sealed at the bottom so all the sauce and topping just kind of fell out of the bottom. I don't know how they normally do it because it was the first time going, but I personally didn't like how they wrapped it open at both ends.

Had a few donair spring rolls. They weren't bad but not much meat inside and quite small Imo. The sweet sauce is amazing though.

I did like the flavour of the meat and the portion sizes so I will be back but I would def make a few changes to cater more to my liking. I would love to try the...

Came here during lunch, wanted to try it because there always seems to be a long line, however i dont know if it was a bad day? but i preordered my food, however i realised i ordered it 20 minutes after the time i really wanted it, so i called them and asked if they could have it ready by the actual time i wanted it, and they complied happily, but by the time i was there they still told me to wait, and i ended up waiting 10 minutes (i preordered it 2 hours in advance) then an employee asked me if this was mine, whilst i was responding the owner shouted at me, telling me to back off because that wasnt my food and i was told to wait, and i told him to calm down, then as i was walking he screamed ur welcome, i was so caught off guard i said thank you out of reflex but i regretted saying it after the disrespect i faced, the food was okay, not bad, oh and whilst i was waiting for the food i saw employees vaping in store, around food too really oh and infront of students? and the owner saw it and didnt say anything, i mean the food is popular, but i think its popular due to its location. i dont think id come here again, maybe some other time when the owner isnt there or different workers, or just for take...

So i went there when the sun was going down, i saw the reviews and several people recommended it to me, so i decided to go and take a visit, I’ve been to restaurants all over the world and i was shocked to see this, i walked in, it was quite full, good thing i made a pick up order as i was told there was no seating, but when i went to collect it at the correct time, i was told to sit tight, i patiently waited for 10 minutes, the restaurant was a bit busy so i understand, however i then saw workers vaping, in the store, once i was given my food i took it and gave it to someone on the street, however i took the poutine and it was quite delicious, but if someones gonna serve food and vape at least do it outside, and the employees were quite rude, i never said anything as i can tolerate things quite well, and id rather make an honest review of these places, if you’d like to come here go for it but I’ve read reviews and just recently another guy witnessed the same thing, and i also heard from local people in the area that it was normal, good food nonetheless, inshallah the truth comes out about this restaurant because many people also told me that what i was saying was false, however i saw it with...
