Edit: We order on Doordash all the time and still frequent very often! I stand by my review a year later 100%. I always get their salad rolls (satay beef), satay beef sub, and chicken spring rolls. Their vermicelli is still amazing! I tried their satay beef pho last time and liked it, but they still can't beat my pho place that I frequent. I stick to their beef since I don't tend to eat anything but breasts, so I'm no help aside from beef. If their lemon chicken vermicelli were breasts like other places we go to, I'd be here even more often. That's the only negative here, and that's not a negative for 99% of people.
Original review: I went here for the first time tonight, and wow, was I impressed! It's clean inside and you have a full view into their kitchen which is very clean! I got the satay beef vermicelli, and it was fabulous. I'm a bit odd and picky with my meat quality, and thankfully, they don't have stringy, fatty chewy beef that you find lots of places! I was impressed with the portion sizes after having a craving for vermicelli 3 times in a week! I've tried a few places in the area and won't go anywhere else now. I also ended up getting a pink passion tea before I headed out to eat my meal. This is a problem as it's very addicting, it's so good I wanted more! I am so impressed with this place and will be bac... a lot! I can't wait to try a sub...
Read moreWe were hungry and excited to try out this place, we love pho. We went in about 40 minutes before closing and we placed an order immediately for take out. There were three women there. Unfortunately, they all had poker face and the server was rather rude. She rushed our food, heated our soup (we ordered pho) and rashly packed everything. We had left a tip when we paid before she started on our food and regretted I leaving tip after that. I was polite and smiling the whole time, trying to have a friendly conversation but the woman serving us was stone cold and had a scowl the whole time. I felt unwelcome the whole time. When we were leaving, we saw two Asian girls come in and immediately the server's demeanor changed and she was smiling and serving them politely. We are south Asian. We were nothing but smiling and polite. I felt terrible after and really upset I could hardly eat. We will never visit this place again especially because of how we were treated. We love Vietnamese food but won't get it from...
Read moreIf I was in the mood for Vietnamese subs (banh mi) and wanted to spend under $10, Viet Spice Deli would be my go-to! Even if price wasn't a factor, I would still come here! We ordered literally one of every kind of sub, except for vegetarian, and we were pleasantly surprised!
Price aside, the assorted sub (my personal favorite) comes with generous helpings of pate and Vietnamese cold cuts which ticks all the right boxes. Whether it's the divine grilled pork that carries so much wonderful grill and char flavor to the sate chicken that boasts huge chunks of tender meat, you cannot go wrong here.
Ultimately, bread is what makes banh mi and their bread was fresh with perfect glass-like crispness to the crust. Toppings like the cucumber, pickled carrot and cilantro were fresh and in a perfect ratio with the meat and bread.
I don't know what I expected for only $9 a sub but what happened was I have a new favorite Vietnamese sub...
