Stopped at A&W in the cambridge mall today. I was happy with the service I got as the girl out front was very happy to serve.
However, the food was all around lack luster. The fries were under salted, the buddy burgers were dry, and the BLT Chicken burger was poorly dressed. It's the last one that really got me, and convinced me to leave this review. I payed 8$ for a fast food burger, there is no reason to cheap out. There was one slice from the top of a tomato that is generous to say it covered half the sandwich, and half the lettuce one would expect on a sandwich this size.
However, everything outside of the food was great. The place was kept clean, the front end worker was flawless in execution, and the manager is very personable. Having met and talked to the manager alone raised the store up, and it is difficult for me to give such a great person 3 stars at the store, because I know he works very hard to keep the store running well. Unfortunately the food is a big portion of a food store, and when that is sub par, then it really takes its toll on a rating.
There is a possibility of this being a fluke, and I will randomly be placing the same order at a later date. If the outcome is different, I will look forward to raising my rating...
Read moreI went to the a&w Cambridge Centre location on a Friday June 14, I order mama burger for my son. I paid $15 and some change for the meal. I took them I gave the food to my son in the car because I had to go to Toronto. What happened is I got veggie burger, very spicy. I had to stope on on rote and go buy him another food, because I got the wrong order. The next day I went to the place and I showed them evidence of the burger and the pay. The answer of the worker that they had new hire and he/ she made mistakes( so I am not sure how is that my fault. Anyway I asked for refund and to talk to a manger, which is weirdly she does not work in the weekend. Her answer was I should have return back, so I told the worker to ask her that I have return from the highway to go back get my correct burger and make it back to Toronto. Then he called her againt, her answer was make a burger for me at 10am in the morning, where I need to go to my work. I asked to talk to her, her name is pearl. At least that what the worker told me, she said to leave my number and she will call. Of course non of that happened. Read moreI ordered at this location many times since I work in the mall. There has been many changes with employees fine I get it. But yesterday on Thursday November the 3rd at 4:30 ish PM before I started my shift at 5 I order onion rings "MADE TO ORDER" the new girl I can tell she looked new looked at me like huh i said yes can i get it made to order. I looked on the screen she clearly didnt punch it in. She still ringed me in I paid. Thinking she probably tell the girl in the back. LITERALLY 5 seconds later onion rings came out. Meaning it was not made to order cause it usually takes for a fresh batch 2-3 minutes to be made and you can smell the freshness when its made. I was very annoyed. I grabbed it cause I knew i didnt have enough time to eat and head to work. Plus i didnt want to deal with it. I sat in the food court opened the bag and "BAMM" my onion rings were not fresh. Argh... everytime at this location I ask "made to order" the older lady who works there or this other person always does it, but this one time.... maybe retrain your new employees or shadow them so they are punching in correctly.
