I took my mom here for Mother’s Day dinner based on the glowing reviews, but unfortunately, I was left apologizing to her for the experience.
I wanted to give this place the benefit of the doubt, but it turned out to be quite underwhelming. The atmosphere needs serious improvement—there was no music, paint was chipping, electric wires and lights around the windows were falling off, and the blue chairs were both steep and uncomfortable compared to the table height.
We went on a Thursday evening and were the only dine-in customers, aside from maybe two walk-ins. Given the recent hot weather, I expected the AC to be on, but the restaurant was uncomfortably warm. While we were served water, it had no ice and quickly became warm, which added to the discomfort.
Our server was polite but very quiet. We ordered the momo platter for two, which included butter chicken, rice, naan, two vegetable samosas, a lentil-based sauce, and a dessert. We also got a side of the tandoori momo dumplings, which had been highly recommended in reviews.
Unfortunately, none of the food tasted fresh. Everything seemed pre-made and simply reheated—something that was evident in both the taste and texture.
The dumplings were served hot but lacked a strong tandoori flavor. They tasted more like regular dumplings and were quite pricey for what they were. A sauce was provided, but it was unclear whether it was meant for the dumplings or the samosas. It added flavor, though it had an odd chemical-like taste—which could very well be due to unfamiliar spices, but it was a bit off-putting.
The samosas were extremely hard on the outside, again likely due to being reheated rather than freshly prepared.
Next came the butter chicken, rice, and lentil sauce. All of it needed salt and overall felt bland. The butter chicken had a nice creamy, slightly sweet flavor, but the portion of chicken was small and both sauces were served in tiny bowls. To make things worse, there was a hair on the rim of the lentil sauce bowl. I didn’t say anything to the server—I just removed the hair and moved on.
The portion sizes felt disproportionate for two people: minimal sauce, a medium serving of rice, and a large amount of naan. Sadly, the naan lacked flavor—while it appeared to have butter on it, there was no noticeable taste.
It really felt like the food was being reheated in the back by the server rather than freshly prepared by a chef.
The bill came out to just under $70, which was hard to justify given the overall experience. Sadly, I won’t be returning.
All in all, I genuinely feel bad for this restaurant. I hope they take this as constructive feedback and work on improving both the food quality and dining...
Read moreI recently like 3 days ago had the opportunity to try the momos here, and unfortunately, it turned out to be an incredibly underwhelming experience. As someone who enjoys exploring different cuisines and flavors, I was genuinely excited to give Momo a try. However, my expectations quickly plummeted as I dug into what can only be described as a lackluster culinary disappointment.
First and foremost, the presentation was far from appealing. The Momos arrived at the table looking uninspiring, with an unappealing appearance that failed to entice my taste buds. The dumplings were poorly folded and lacked any artistic flair that is usually associated with this traditional dish. The lack of attention to detail was disheartening and gave an immediate indication that the dish may not live up to its reputation.
As for the taste, it was an outright disaster. The filling inside the Momos was bland and lacked any discernible flavor profile. It seemed as if the chef had forgotten to season the vegetables, resulting in an insipid and uninspiring bite. The texture of the dumpling wrapper was also disappointing, as it was overly thick and chewy, making it difficult to enjoy the dish as a whole.
Moreover, the dipping sauce that accompanied the Momos failed to redeem the overall experience. It lacked the tangy and aromatic elements that are characteristic of a well-prepared Momo sauce. Instead, it tasted like a generic, store-bought sauce that had nothing to offer in terms of enhancing the dish or providing a...
Read moreI have been wanting to visit this place for years! I used to have some of their soup with my roommate (ordered for delivery) years ago and it was very tasty as well as a generous portion! My friend then recommended me this placed last year as well and i finally visited it a few days ago. The food was delicious, very affordable price, a good range of options , and caring staff! While not fancy, the ambient is nice, relaxing and decently decorated. The server was also super helpful when i have brought up my dairy restrictions! He made sure to confirm everything with his chef and even made alterations to one of the dishes so i was able to have something i have been craving for quite a while. Price wise was about 70 for two people with 2 mains, a portion of nan, a portion of rice, and an appetizer. Mind you, we could easily have done just with the two mains. We were stuffed and brought left overs home as the portions are descent. My only small feedback is that i hoped for my dish to be spicy and while well seasoned it was not spicy at all , but that is likely just a matter of me expressing better how spicy I would like my dish. Will...
