Capri Pizza — Restaurant in Cambridge

Words can’t describe how disappointed I am. Unless you’re a regular customer don’t bother wasting your time and money. My fiancé and I have ate here a few times in the restaurant and the food and atmosphere was great. Today we ordered delivery and I have never been agitated with this poor of customer service. I first called and let the phone ring until I was disconnected. I than called back and a young man came on the phone saying “Capri”. Not how can I help you, how are you. Nothing. I than proceeded to say I wanted delivery. They said no problem what do yoat want. I placed my main order and proceeded to order when he said okay they’ll be 45-50 minutes. I wasn’t done speaking before he hung up. I called back about 15 minutes later forgetting to order dipping sauce. Again, no hi or hello when he answered the phone. I said I just placed an order about 30 minutes ago and wanted to know if my order was in the store. He said, I told to your order will be there in 45-50 minutes. I than told him I wanted to add a dipping sauce. He said ok I’ll add it and hung up. 1 hour went by waiting for our food. The driver showed up with no debit machine (I wasn’t asked how I was going to pay) he than put our food back in the cooler bag and said sorry. Call the store. They keep doing this, sending food for delivery and not telling customers that it’s cash only. I was beyond frustrated at this point because I’ve already had enough. I had to go to the store to pay where all the staff started arguing with me and causing a scene. The lady at the table started adding in her 5 cents about how all their regular customers know it’s only cash for delivery. The two gentleman (son and father I’m assuming) were shouting at me over the counter and getting in my face. The older gentleman told me it’s my fault for assuming I’d be able to pay debit but than continued to tell me I shouldn’t assume in life. He said most people have a credit card unless their a child. From Brantford, ON was on a drive with wife 1st day of spring in 2021 during COVID. Felt like pizza, so I Googled several places in Cambridge, ON. We we’re close to this place, and all the reviews were good. Plus it had been in business since 1972, I ordered from my car in their parking lot. A friendly Italian lady took my order, I just ordered a small (10”) with pepperoni and mushrooms. You can eat inside also, but the lady said they would bring it to me. In about 15 minutes a young lad came to our car with our pizza and a debit machine. Paid and ate my steaming hot pizza right out of the oven. It was home Italian pizza, sauce and I got thin crust. It was cooked to perfection. It was the best pizza I’ve had in a very long time, I throughly enjoyed it. If I ever return to Cambridge and in the mood for pizza, this is where I’ll go. Very pleasant people and property and restrooms are clean. High recommend as I consider myself a connoisseur of pizza, especially Italian...

I live 6 KM from Franklin and Dundas and all of the pizza places listed below, I can drive there in 6-7 mins but was in a bit of a bind .

I called City Pizza, Pizza Pizza, Twice the Deal Pizza, Papa Johns Pizza, Dominos Pizza and Dino’s Pizza last night and was told by all of them that I am outside of their delivery zone because my address comes up as North Dumfries instead of Cambridge and they immediately turned down my business and wouldn’t even hear me out when trying to explain and didn’t offer me as much as an extended zone delivery charge .

Thank god they did. Because I found Capri Pizza. Small family owned “ma and pa” pizza and pasta.

Amazing quality food, amazing value (fed 5 people for less than 40 bucks including delivery and the delivery was fast and the folks there are down to earth and friendly .

Lesson learned. Buy and support your local community. Especially in these times
