I have been shopping here for a number of years. Shopping almost on a weekly basis. I have been subject to the owner's "moods" over those years. For the most part he is friendly and nice to talk to but sometimes it is apparent that my being in his store is inconvenient for him. He sighs heavily when making my selections, he will say "come on" and motion with his hand when I am not going fast enough for him and he will mutter under his breath when I ask for my deli meat to be sliced in a certain way and shake his head. I have tolerated this the entire time because I like to support small businesses and I do like his products even though everything he sells can be easily purchased at other grocers. My last encounter was the final straw though. My son and I walked in at 5:52 pm. We came from the north end of waterloo to Cambridge, which is a considerable distance, and we wanted to stop in to get some groceries for the week ahead. He leaned against the counter and proceeded to show his displeasure that we were walking in 7 minutes before his closing time. I asked him if he was open until 6pm or not? He said that they already cleaned their machines and again proceeded to mutter under his breath and turned around and walked back to his office. I told him not to worry and that I could take my business elsewhere. We put our hand cart away and walked out. You have lost me and my family as customers for good. I will never attend your store again. If you say your hours are until 6pm then it shouldn't matter if we walk in at 5:59. We are customers and you should welcome us and be happy and grateful that we want to shop in your store, especially during these Covid times when there are businesses closing at a rapid rate. It is unbelievable that you as a merchant, would show displeasure at a customer wanting to come in a few minutes before closing. You don't clean until after your last customer leaves and you lock the doors. Customers are the reason you have a store and you need to...
Read moreNever been a huge fan of this place or the owner but soo many of the Polish Delis that were around have closed up.
Kielbasa and lunch meat is still better than grocery stores so I go.
I'm only writing this review because I was discussed by the owners treatment of an older gentleman in line ahead of me the other day. He walked up to deli to help as it was busy. He barked once what do you want and within 2-3 seconds snapped his gingers and and shouted "old man wake up, pay attention, what do you want, pay attention!".
The elderly man had been looking in the display and deciding, he seemed to be at least 75 and may have suffered a stroke recently or something causing him to take a few seconds longer.
I've also heard him talk very rudely and disrespectfully to the sweet ladies who work there in the past.
Absolutely discounted! This guy is and...
Read moreThe man I encountered behind the deli counter must’ve been the owner because his attitude was consistent with the other reviews. He was impatient as I was trying to decide what to get and was patronizing when I asked questions. When I chose to cut him off after he continued to insult me, he then started to mutter how rude I was - clearly not self aware. He continued to be rude as I went over to the cashier and the only reason I even decided to buy anything was because the cashier was nice. Very unpleasant experience which is unfortunate as the previous times I went, he was not there - and of course I...
