I’m updating my last review from six months ago. Today, I went to celebrate a special event, but unfortunately my experience was not the same. First, they were clearly understaffed and there wasn’t enough seating because of a large birthday celebration. (In that case, please do not accept additional guests.)
Once we were shown to a table, I took my child to the washroom while my husband went to place the order. When I came back, our table had been given away to other guests who arrived after us—even though I had left my drink and my child’s water bottle on the table. How unprofessional is it that they couldn’t even remember where their guests were seated?
To make matters worse, when my child was using the washroom, the door didn’t lock and swung wide open when another guest waved at the lock from outside—extremely embarrassing. When I complained, the staff were more focused on proving it was our fault, as if we wanted the door open and to be embarrassed in public! On top of that, the entire place felt very stuffy with no air circulation. Food was oily and made me feel sick afterwards.
It seems they are no longer able to maintain their service standards. I will never visit this location again. You pay, but you don’t even feel welcomed as a guest. :(
I would not recommend anyone to come here anymore. It’s not worth it.
My Review from 6 months ago:
Great food. Absolutely loved it.portion is okay compared to price. We were served with complementary bread and service was top notch. Food was served very fast and staff was very friendly. Clean washroom. Only suggestion installation of vent will help the smoke from...
Read moreI came here tonight with my family and I was blown away. The food was not only mind blowingly good, but it was the most authentic tasting Afghan food I've had from outside.
To start, they gave us each a bowl of soup on the house. The soup was thick and flavourful, and was perfect on a cold winter's day.
The Qabuli Palaw was the real deal. If you want to taste real deal Afghan dishes, try that for sure. Also the mantoo was steamed to order and was so fresh. I could see the kabobs being made in front of us, and they were all cooked to perfection
Even their sides were exceptional. The bread was baked fresh, had a crispy exterior and a fluffy interior. The rice was perfectly fluffy and well seasoned, and their salata was very fresh. Their green chutney and white sauce went so well with the rice and kabobs.
On top of all that, the service was some of the best I've ever had. The owner had a genuine smile on his face and he tried his absolute best to give my family and I a dinner we would remember. Its nice seeing somebody put so much love into their work. I hope that their business is around for a long time! They've definitely gained a life long supporter. Thank you guys for the...
Read moreHonestly, I do not like leaving a bad review and I have to in this case (especially after braking my fast) in order to make this Restaraunt as good as the food taste. If it weren’t for the pleasant service, and the freshly made lamb kebab that I ordered right when they were starting to cook before iftar I would have left it at a 1 ⭐️. I couldn’t believe the plate I ordered was priced at $24.86 after tax. And barely a full pita. I was quite disappointed when competitors fill the box up to the rim, salad full on the other side and pita is longer than the actual box (which this one wa a half the size of the images I have seen and it was cold). There’s no way you open up shop here and not know the pricing of completion. this is a new place and I honestly felt like I was being taken advantage of. I’d recommend asking about the portions for take out as they dining in portions would reflect that pricing better. If you think any of their skewer plate meals is worth more than $15 then you need to go and try other places (ie WATAN KEBOB, Bamiyan or any Afghan place for that matter) immediately before your...
