I recently visited Kerala Food Court at 2435 Eagle St N, Cambridge, ON, and had a mixed experience. We ordered the Mutton Biriyani, Porotta, and Chicken Curry.
Mutton Biriyani: The rice in the Mutton Biriyani was well-cooked and tasty, with a good balance of spices. However, the mutton was not cooked as well as we expected, which was a bit disappointing. The meat was tougher than anticipated, affecting the overall enjoyment of the dish.
Porotta and Chicken Curry: The Kerala Porotta and the spicy Chicken Curry were the highlights of our meal. The Porotta was flaky and perfectly cooked, providing a delightful texture. The Chicken Curry was flavorful and had just the right amount of spice, making it a yummy combination with the Porotta.
Service: The service was decent, but there is room for improvement. While the staff were polite, the wait time for our food was longer than expected, especially considering the restaurant wasn't very busy at the time.
Ambiance: The ambiance of Kerala Food Court is cozy and clean, but it could benefit from a bit more warmth and decor to make it more inviting. The seating was comfortable, but the overall atmosphere felt a bit plain.
Customer Feedback: Before leaving, we shared our comments about the food, and the staff listened calmly. They even offered another set of Mutton Biriyani to make up for our earlier experience, which we declined. The girl who served us managed everything nicely and took care of everyone with a nice smile on her face. We forgot to ask her name, but she made our visit pleasant despite the initial hiccup.
Overall, Kerala Food Court offers some tasty dishes, particularly the Adi Porotta and Chicken Curry. However, the Mutton Biriyani fell short of expectations. It’s a decent spot for a casual meal, but there’s potential for improvement in both food preparation...
Read moreMy recent visit to KFC was disappointing on multiple fronts, including food quality, customer service, cleanliness, taste, and ambience.
Starting with the customer service, the two girls at the front desk were unwelcoming and even told us not to use a table at the back, claiming it wasn't open to the public, while we saw a group of boys eating there. We had chosen that table to avoid disturbing others in case our baby cried.
The staff members were unfriendly and acted as though we were there for free food. They took a long time to take our order and even longer to bring water and glasses. Despite confirming that the KFC special biryani would be served quickly, it arrived late and cold. The biryani lacked flavor and substance, save for a few pieces of lemon pickle and salad. For its price, which is higher than other restaurants in Cambridge, it should at least include papad and a boiled egg, or the price should be reduced. The chicken didn't seem fresh and appeared to be colored with food color rather than actual spices.
The cleanliness was also subpar, with flies buzzing around and foul-smelling glasses.
After traveling quite a distance to try their food, I can confidently say we will not be returning or recommending this location. Lastly, to the staff member who brought us the bill, don't expect a tip if the service doesn't merit one.
Sorry, but this experience was simply...

Back again at Kerala Food Court, and this visit was made memorable not just by the food, but by the warm, graceful presence of Riya Ashish, my server for the day. A beautiful, soft-spoken Malayali woman with a radiant smile, Riya did more than just take my order—she understood my Bombay palate, engaged in genuine conversation, and made thoughtful suggestions that truly enhanced the experience. It’s rare to find someone who combines professionalism with such natural charm and customer care.
I went for the Kozhi Biryani served on a banana leaf and the Pomfret fish, both recommended by her—and she absolutely nailed it. The biryani was aromatic, layered, and flavourful, while the pomfret was fresh, delicately spiced, and grilled to perfection. Both dishes deserve a solid 4.5/5.
The restaurant’s newly renovated interiors bring a refreshing, modern Kerala vibe—clean, creative, and welcoming. It’s clear the owner has kept the soul of the place intact while also raising the bar on service by choosing the right people to represent the brand.
Every visit to Kerala Food Court feels like a return to something familiar and comforting. And with people like Riya around, it’s not just a meal—it’s an experience. See you soon,...
