Sunset Grill — Restaurant in Cambridge

I have been a regular since this location opened. Last weekend I had a very unpleasant experience with the server with long black hair.

We walked in, saw that you were to seat yourself, so we sat ourselves at an open table.

The waitress approached us and was very short when asking for our drinks.

It took 10m to get water/coffee. When it arrived, it was slammed down onto the table with enough force to spill the water. And this was when she informed us that normally we were to wait at the door to be seated and now she has to walk across the restaurant to seve us outside of her area.

I pointed at the sign that said to seat yourselves. It was turned the wrong way so I don't know why she continued to be so angry after that.

Food was served to us by another server after this exchange. No one came to ask how our food was, so i had to get up and ask for cutlery, hot sauce, and butter for my toast because it wasn't even buttered.

To top it off, we waited for 20m after our food was done to get our bill. Again, Had to get up to ask for it. The couple that was sat next to us 15m after we arrived, ordered after us, got their food before us, and left before we even got our food.

If I decide to come back, I refuse to be served by this server again. She might have been having a bad day, but that's...

I could almost call myself and son "regulars" at this place. Went Sep 14 for breakfast and ordered avacado toast with eggs. The meal was quite different from the last time I had it a few months earlier. I mentioned this to the waitress (who I had never been served by before ever in the 15 times I had been there in the past few years) and she was adamant it was no different than before. Not sure how she knew that - never, ever saw her before. It had so much cheese on it, I couldn't stomach any of it. When I pushed it away, she was very cold and unattached when she asked me if I wanted anything else. I was so disgusted I just said no. The waitress offered me nothing. Came in and swooped away the plate as soon as possible. Looking back on it, the waitress should have made more of an effort to make sure I was satisfied with the meal (which I wasn't). Will not be returning. Sunset Grill - go back to the waitresses you had before (they probably went back to school and you are stuck hiring mean, nasty ones now). I had a truly disappointing experience at this restaurant. The potatoes were so hard that they actually ripped the inside of my mouth, leaving me bleeding. When we told the manager, he was incredibly rude and unhelpful. He asked if we wanted more potatoes, and when we explained that I couldn't eat any more due to the bleeding, he responded with, “What do you want then?” in the most disrespectful tone. There was no apology, no empathy—just a dismissive attitude. He even claimed that "everyone else is eating them, so they're fine." This lack of care and respect was completely unacceptable. I will never be returning.

On the positive side, the waitress (Kendra ) was friendly and kind, greeting us warmly and even apologizing for the issue, which was appreciated she saw the blood it was too much for a patato to rip my skin . However, the manager, Dhruiml (I believe his name was), treated us terribly and made no effort to resolve the problem. We ended up paying for a meal we couldn't even finish.
