The takeout is always very hit or miss if they get your order correctly (items missing or items mixed up (dark meat instead of white despite ordering white meat specifically), and the wait times are usually inaccurate (go to pick up food at the allotted time and then have to wait another 15 minutes).
Unfortunately the sit down portion of the restaurant isn't any better... The waitress rushed us through the drink menu until we finally had to say "Can you please give us a minute?" so we could browse in peace and at our own pace without her standing there impatiently. Sure there's not much of a drink menu to browse, but if someone is undecided the appropriate thing is to say "Take your time, I'll come back momentarily", leave to tend to other tables, and then come back in a few minutes.
The real problem came when we had ordered our appetizers and entrees and the incorrect appetizers arrived to our table. The waitress actually ARGUED with me to say that I had ordered what was on the table, despite having two witnesses that heard me order the item that wasn't brought to the table. When I ordered verbally, I had even POINTED to the item on the menu.
After she left in a huff to fix her mistake, we decided to leave because of being hassled by the wait staff's own mistake. But then they tried to claim that we were dine n dashing and threatened to call the police. Excuse me? The last time I checked, dine and dashing was when you actually ate a portion of the meal and drank at least half of your glass and then proceeded to leave without paying... Not sipping off of your drink and not touching the food that you didn't even order that the wait staff brought to you and then being given attitude by said wait staff for their fault. That's their mistake, not the customers and hence they or the restaurant should cover the cost. Don't like it? You're in the wrong industry!
Because of these reasons, GO AT YOUR OWN RISK OR BETTER YET, TRY ANOTHER LOCATION OR RESTAURANT...

Our orders were taken swiftly, and to our delight, they were delivered promptly and accurately. Read moreHorrible... Will never order from Swiss Chalet ever again. We placed an order for delivery at 6:29pm. I recieved a confirmation via email right after I placed the order. The funds were taken off of my mastercard immediately. At 7:06pm I checked the status of my order online and saw it was in progress and would be delivered at 7:19pm ( I have scene shots of all of this) At 7:38pm I called the restaurant and to see when I could expect my food after waiting over an hour and was told that they never recieved the order, so I provided my confirmation number and was told I would receive a call back. After waiting 15 minutes without a call back.. I called head office and was told the order was cancelled but I was never notified that the order was cancelled??! Yet the funds were still taken from my master card. They refused to cancel the hold that was place on my master card for 72 hours !!! After arguing with head office for over 20 minutes I was told there was nothing they could do... Not even replace the order I had already waited for almost 2 hours for and offered to go to the restaurant and pick it up myself.
I am disgusted by the customer service I received tonight and will never order from here EVER again. It's honestly so disappointing, especially seeing as this was one of my favorite restaurants. I am livid. I also still have not received a call back from the Hespeler Road location after being told I would receive a call back right away (that was over 2 and a half hours ago).Good job Swiss Chalet, your customer service...
