We went for a buffet on a Friday night with no plans in advance and just thought to give it a try as we were in that complex for kids fun hut. The restaurant was not busy at all, we found ourself lucky and decided to go for their buffet dinning! How bad the food can be we had no idea, we thought we will have at least something to fill in stomach but curries after curries we tried were having some kind of weird taste! Some were overpowering with ginger, one of them tasted like ketchup gravy whereas couple of them literally lacked the freshness and felt couple days old! As we are vegetarian so we already had limited choice to try. The only curry we found better tasting was their vegetable korma and I found it odd that it was the only curry that had lid on it 😅 (checkout in photo!) The starters: aloo patty and spring roll were all dried out, and were so oily like-double or triple fried and tasted like cardboard. I didn’t dare tried their rice as it looked very crunchy with all the time on that hot table! Seriously we were worried on getting stomach bug or something after eating here! We should have seen empty restaurant on Friday dinner time and taken this as red-flag and not jump in to try! Servers and staff were helpful and kept the place very tidy. The roti were served fast and hot considering low footfall.

I and my partner were craving for chicken tandoori and vegetables spring rolls so we decided to search on google where to go. We wanted something that buffet all you can eat but affordable. So we saw this Royal Indian Buffet and sweets and we drove all the way from Guelph to Cambridge. When we got here, there were only 2 tables left and 3 tables that were reserved. The place is small though, it has only 11 tables or 44-50 people capacity, so if you are coming with a big group you may need to call ahead and reserve a table. We pay for the buffet eat all you can for $19.00+tax for each adult. We were very impressed and satisfied with the food, they have varieties of food to choose from appetizer to dessert. Everything that we have craved for was there! The Tandoori chicken, Shahi paneer, butter chicken, goat curry, vegetable spring rolls, the kheer were phenomenal! The naan is included also but you have to tell the server and they will make it for you. It’s worth it for the price of 19.00+tax! I definitely recommend this place to all Indian food lovers and would definitely comeback! The service and servers were great too! And the bonus part is, washrooms are clean!

I enjoy Indian food immensely and Royal Indian Buffet did not disappoint. I was a little apprehensive about visiting here as I generally do not care for buffets since food tends to sit out longer at buffets compared to a traditional restaurant where food is made to order. However, I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of food served here. I tried nearly all of the mains and they were all full of flavour and freshly made. Notably, the restaurant was full, which kept the food moving at the buffet. I also want to specifically call out the tandoori chicken, which doesn't have any sauce to compensate for dry or tough meat. The chicken was so juicy and tender that I returned for three more pieces after my first serving. Staff were friendly and service was prompt. There is no naan bread out on the buffet tables so that the bread doesn't get dry and hard sitting out. This is one thing that is made to order so it is always hot out of the oven. Decor is simple and the atmosphere is friendly and cosy, as the restaurant is fairly small. Definitely recommend this place and looking forward to visiting again.

We are regular customers of this restaurant and have used the online order forum and have visited the restaurant in person too. My daughter and her boyfriend were being treated to dinner by my husband and I. Since we’ve taken them with us before we had no idea that they would be treated so disrespectfully without us accompanying them. They are a young couple who had never had this happen to them before at other establishments.

They were never offered to have their water glass refilled. (The food is spicy and hot and a beverage is needed to be able to enjoy the meal) They tried to get the server’s attention but were completely ignored. They could see other customers being served properly?!?

They never had their dishes removed from the table! Her boyfriend was actually YELLED at from across the restaurant when he attempted to remove their own plates to the cart.(where we had placed them before when eating there.) This is unacceptable!

I called to complain upon hearing how they had been treated; to be told it was the “new girl” that had treated them so poorly and that the problem would be addressed with her.

After speaking to my daughter, I was told it was the lady who has seated us and served us before on multiple occasions who treated them this way!!! It was not the “new girl”!!

I accepted the apology, with no mention of any type of remuneration, over the phone believing it to be sincere when it was blatantly not so. This is why I have posted this review. I was satisfied to receive the apology until I found out it wasn’t sincere or the truth at all. P.S. The lady on the phone knew exactly who I was referring to; she described them to me, as now I know it was her that...

Good tasting food but a little overpriced for what it is (takeout). The buffet price is reasonable. The buffet has a couple of chicken and one goat item and mostly vegetarian items. The taste of the food is above average and I would say the best I've had in cambridge so far. The food is better tasting than the other takeout place in town. Seems freshly made and the naan is good as well. I did takeout twice from here in two weeks and the first time they charged me 7.50 for a veggie takeout dish and the next time they said no its 9.99. For three veggie dishes and 6 naans it was around $45 with tax... that's pretty high for indian veggie dishes. These dishes in mississauga are 6.99 not 9.99 as here. If you bought that in mississauga or brampton it would be a third to a half less than this price and taste a bit better too. Their spice and heat level is on the lighter side here. Overall the kids enjoyed it but I thought for what it is its priced a bit high. Also the area behind the cash register and bar is a bit of a mess they could clean up a bit.

I will add the their matar paneer was excellent as it contained a lot of the paneer cheese. Definitely the quality was good there. Some of the cheaper places elsewhere just have the peas without any cheese but these guys did this very well on the buffet.

It's the best tasting indian food in cambridge, but I think the place could use some cleanup and a reduction in prices and they may get more volume through there. The waiter was complaining that it's very...

VERY GOOD NORTH INDIAN FOOD. Jan 27, 2024 We have been eating at this place for some time, most of the time food is good. We try their buffet lunch. Overall it is one of the very good in the area, however sometimes it can be too loud music and noise, it is a small place and at times it is crowed. Food is very good most of the times.

Roti: 5/5, One of the very good tandoori roti I had. Chole/Chana: 4.5/5, Very Good, this curry is difficult to make with good taste and they make it very good. Kadi Pakora / Yogert curry: 3.5/5, Good, difficult to cook. Mixed Veg currry: 3.5/5, Good. Dal Makhhani: 4.5/5, Verry good, difficult to cook. Paneer: 3/5, it ok, they could fry paneer chunks first before putting in curry, overall it is good. Saag: 4/5, Very Good. Rajama/kidney beans masala: 4.5/5, Verry good. Rice: 3/5, it ok, probably it is sometime to do with rice they use, there are some better quality brands of basmati they could use, e.g. Lal Quila (green bag) is one of the best qualitty basmati rice. It is grown in rich mountain soil which gives it a flavour, taste you may not find in other brands. Veg Pakoras: 4.5/5 Very good pakoras. Fruit Salad: 4.5/5, Very good. Ice-cream: 4.5/5 Very good. Rice pudding, Sweets: 4.5/5 Very good.

P.S. My reviews are to help public, and for owners it is something where they can improve and provide...
