I’ve never had such an insane and outrageous encounter at any fast-food restaurant, or any restaurant for that matter, until I went to Wendy’s on September 30 at 3:40 AM. There was an Indian woman working the night shift who yelled at me—over mayonnaise. Yes, mayonnaise. All I did was ask how much a single mayo packet costs, and instead of answering, she freaked out, started screaming, and accused me of holding up the line. I couldn’t even get a full sentence in before she interrupted me again and again. She charged me 60 cents for 10 mayo packets by ringing in 2 plum sauces because there’s apparently no button for mayo. This inconsistency is insane—last time, I was charged for a random cheese sauce instead. When I asked for 4 more mayo packets, which should have been included with the two combos I bought (like last time), she lost it. She claimed I could only get 1 sauce per combo, which I agreed to, then offered to pay for the other 2, but she completely lost her temper, ranting about a timer in the back. I’m a student. I don’t have a lot of money to eat out, and if I’m spending over $40 on fast food, I expect basic customer service. Instead, I got screamed at, with her telling me that I was “putting my friend through” something. My friend literally said, “I’m good,” but she wouldn’t stop screaming, ““SEE??? HE’S DONE!!! HE’S DONE!! LOOK WHAT YOU’RE PUTTING THIS POOR GUY THROUGH!!!” (also, what an odd and extremely unprofessional thing to do, who starts talking like that about someone when they’re sitting right there), this made my friend extremely uncomfortable. When I asked for the price of a single mayo packet again, she screamed, “IF ANYTHING HAPPENS TO ME, YOU’LL BE THE ONE TO BLAME!!!” She started hyperventilating, pointing her finger at me like she was going to attack us. I genuinely did not understand what she meant “if anything happens to me” but at this point she looked like a crazy person and she kept putting her hand out pointing to me and I honestly felt like she was going to either attack my friend or me or even herself. honestly, I don’t know what this was… I’m literally still in shock that someone can behave like this, I honestly thought that with how crazed she looked that she might get violent in some way, so my friend and I just left. This entire experience goes against the Consumer Protection Act, 2002 (Section 14) and the Competition Act (Section 52). Prices must be clear and transparent, not random. If 10 mayo packets are 60 cents, then one should be 6 cents. She couldn’t charge me fairly, and the inconsistency is illegal. How would an itemized receipt even make sense when they’re charging for plum sauces and cheese sauces instead of mayo? This was the worst customer service I’ve ever received. Wendy’s used to be my favorite fast-food spot, but between the shrinking patties, lack of flavor, and now this insane experience, I’m done. NEVER...
Read moreGoogle Reviews criticism: don't know which location is coming up. The one at fischer hallman where I just met my "favourite voice of Wendy's Mr CSR extraordinare" Robert, who, with David Guetta I bellowed "I am titanium" at the window, agreed wholeheartedly. That was last summer but I remember well. I've been served by Robert many times. What a joy to meet him! The one near Sportsworld where I had apple pecan salad w coupon and srs coffee (asked for freshest whether decaf or reg. And whichever was barely lukewarm - quickly replaced but happy not to have hit the hiway.) The one at Westmount/victoria where we went in because we (one of my non techie friends and I do not know the menu and I'm trying to help us both cover our nutritional needs for the best $$. The order taker was more than patient with our mind numbing quantity of questions about what coupons meant, sides and upcharges etc etc (sorry I didn't get your name, you were amazingly patient with both of us). It's time I knew I've been ordering the same thing since the beginning of time Or the one at 430 hespeler tonight where we both got what we could for $5.00; me a baked potatoe s creme and chives w a small chili 2,39 I think and $2 19, he a large chili w 4 extra cheeses .30 each = $4.75. I did the math and all will have to share the glory of the strengths and the pain of the weaknesses. You are all wonderful people. Thank you each and every one inside and out for your service. NOT A WASHROOM AVAILABLE, but they do provide their own garbage cans which are designed to separate recyclables but can't for volume...
Read moreI can sympathize with being short staffed. But 25 minutes standing there waiting for food is unacceptable. You need to STOP taking orders if the staff cannot handle it. I also thought it was actually sneaky how they moved my order to ready and then deleted it from the screen 15 MINUTES prior to me actually receiving it. So in the system their times are still somewhat reasonable. And for those next 15 minutes the two kids meals stood on that counter, wide open. So the fries were ice by the time I got to the car. I order burgers and 2 kids meals. Nothing special. No extra ingredients. My name was second in line on the screen but I quickly watched 7 names be added AFTER mine and then all 7 of those people recieved their food before me. They just kept saying they were short staffed...but continued taking orders. Close the store front or drive through if you don't have enough people to run both. You don't wait 25 minutes at a sit down restaurant. This is the second time this wait has happened. The first I get, but it's been several weeks and there was zero improvement. The gentleman who recieved his food right before me was so angry with the wait he took the whole tray and walked out to his car and didn't return. He was also waiting 25 minutes. In that time he should have recieved his meal...had time to eat and get back on the road.
So we get home and I start handing my children their freezing cold food only to discover no dipping sauce for 2 out of the 3 nugget packs and no toys included in the kids meal. So I can't win with my...
