Best Wok — Restaurant in Campbell River

Nope never again.

We were a family of 5 and ordered a large wonton soup. Came out with a soup spoon, not a ladle. Had to ask for bowls. Ordered wings for everyone to share, had to ask for plates. Wontons were mush. Wings were over battered. Ordered dinner for 2 deluxe and lemon chicken. Lemon chicken looked great, just had a bit too much batter which you could taste because it wasnt crispy the wrong way through. Deluxe chow mein was meh. Best wok stirfry was the best part, veg was crisp and cooked perfect with chicken and shrimp.

Soy sauce at the table was old, you can tell because soy sauce thickens as it ages. They gave packages of hot sauce which was also old because it was brown instead of red.

We were visiting from the mainland so perhaps our taste is different since there’s so many...

STOP!!!..before you order anything to be delivered from here!!! I just ordered chicken wings and beef noodles from Best Wok and I do believe it was the worst meal I have ever had. The chicken wings were bad...as in they had gone off. I thought that maybe they were just having an off night but when I phoned, the gal said that they had been having quite a few complaints over the last two days....so have they been sending out bad chicken for two days??? Anyway, the wings and noodles were saturated in grease. I had to take everything to the outside garbage can because the smell was so bad. Please.....do yourself a favour and order a pizza. Please note...I rated them one star because I was unable to post this...

We were happy. First time there. The server was great. The place looked better and felt cleaner then the Rose Bowl.. The selection was also better than at the Rose Bowl. Why I mention Rose Bowl is because we walked in and walked right out. Seemed like a dirty place. Maybe their food is good? But we wernt trying it. Everything at Best Wok had good individual flavor. The wontons were yummy! Downside tho the desserts however seemed old. Could taste fridge taste in the cake and the jello had a very hard layer on top like its been sitting in the...
