Discovery Fishing Pier Ice Cream Shop — Restaurant in Campbell River

This is a fun place to stop as you are in Campbell River. The ice cream is great, but of course it is a little over priced, as is just about anything in a tourist town. You are able to rent rods at the shop and go fishing right there on the pier. They only have one hook, so if that doesn't suit you, bring your own gear. The fishing off the pier can be great at the right time of the year, but I have never been there at that time. It can be fun to just walk up and down the pier as you take in the scenery. It just isn't quite a 5 star...

A wide variety of delicious flavours of hard ice cream served on the pier overlooking the strait and Quadra Island. The 'Kids Size' cone is two large scoops which is probably a good size for most adults. They have 'taster' size cones which are a single scoop and an adult size is three scoops. There are lovely benches along the pier where you can sit and eat while watching for whales, dolphins, seals, eagles, herons and people fishing. This is a perfect spot for a family walk combined...

The lady at the front counter is so ignorant and should not work in customer service. I required gluten free and she said they "disinfect" the scoop in between orders. When i got my gluten free vanilla ice cream there was a chocolate chunk in it, now no longer gluten free. When i took it back i got nothing but uneducated attitude. It was completly uncalled for!
