Poulet Rouge — Restaurant in Carignan

2025/09/28: I went back last week after having not ordered there in a few months and my original review still stands true. Great service, competent employees, and very polite. Food is fresh, it's served quickly, and they really fill your bowls to the brim every time.

Poulet rouge is great! I've been several times in the past year and the ingredients are always fresh, the fries are always deep fried perfectly and the chicken has yet to be under or overcooked. I specifically order the 2 Flavour (4 piece chicken Volcano Spicy sauce) Poutine bowl and they always fill the fries to the brim, extra poutine sauce instead of their 4 signature sauces and 4 good sized portion of chicken.

Whoever runs the place is doing a good job since they opened. I have never seen the place empty or having what you would call a "slow" day and the young kids working there all do their jobs very well. Let's hope things continue this way! As long as they continue to be generous with their portions and filling up the bowls and taking care to make everything properly as they have been, I'll surely be a returning customer for...

Aujourd’hui vers 12h30, je suis venue manger à votre restaurant. Comme toujours, la nourriture était excellente, mais j’ai malheureusement été témoin d’une scène très dérangeante.

Un de vos employés au service (un grand caissier) a eu un comportement irrespectueux envers son collègue à la préparation des plats. Pendant les 5 à 10 minutes où j’étais présente, il l’a constamment surveillé et repris devant les clients et les autres employés, avec un ton condescendant. Il allait même jusqu’à faire les tâches à sa place (comme préparer ma poutine), tout en lançant des remarques humiliantes du type : « il va falloir que tu ailles plus vite, sinon ça ne marchera pas ».

Ce qui m’a particulièrement marquée, c’est que l’employé à la préparation restait calme et professionnel. Il faisait de son mieux et n’a eu aucune réaction face aux remarques incessantes de son collègue. Mais en tant que cliente, je pouvais facilement imaginer à quel point cela devait bouillir à l’intérieur pour lui.

Comme cliente, la scène était inconfortable : non seulement ça donnait l’impression que son collègue était incompétent, mais cela créait aussi une atmosphère négative pour tout le monde. J’ai confronté le caissier : sa première réaction a été de rire, puis il s’est montré un peu plus réceptif. Toutefois, en consultant les avis en ligne, j’ai constaté que ce problème avec le même employé a déjà été soulevé auparavant.

Je crois qu’il serait important d’avoir une discussion avec cet employé afin de corriger la situation et qu’il puisse présenter des excuses à son collègue. Cela contribuerait à préserver un climat de travail respectueux et à maintenir l’expérience positive que vos clients apprécient habituellement chez vous.

Please advise that when you order online and have the option to pick sauces that they do not come in little cups but mixed into the poutine and poutine sauce. I thought they would be separate cups to dip the chicken into not all mixed together in the bowl. Tzatziki sauce, with hot chili sauce mixed into the poutine was absolutely disgusting. I took 3 bites and felt so nauseous that I had to throw away over $30 of food. The bite of chicken I had before biting into the poutine was tasty and moist but I cannot get over the taste of that combination...
