I've been a customer at this location since it first opened years ago; I downloaded the app as soon as it was available and have collected and redeemed loyalty points for years. After today's incident, however, I find myself doubting if I'll ever come back.
I am sorry to say that Bar Burrito's National Burrito Day advertising campaign used borderline deceptive and misleading tactics. While I was well-aware that the pompous $5.49 price applied only to bean burritos, I failed to realize that at the very end of the e-mail I received there was very small print that stated an imposed limit on how many bean burritos I could get for that price.
This situation could've easily been averted by a kind warning by the staff at the moment of ordering, as I am sure I am not the first person to fall for this tactic, but no, instead of a kind warning I was met by the most rude, condescending, ill-mannered "manager" I've ever met in my life.
She declined my request to not take the burrito that was over the limit, saying that it was already made. In other words, I was forced to pay for food I didn't want to buy.
To add insult to injury there was a long strand of hair in one of the burritos.

Read moreI ordered the Bam Bam Shrimp bowl online. When I arrived at my pickup time, it was busy. A few people in line, plus delivery order people coming in and out. There were only 2 staff members working from what I saw. I waited at the online order pickup spot... and waited.. and waited. Finally a worker acknowledged I was waiting and told me he'd be a couple of minutes. When he came around, the lady behind me waiting was upset. The staff member apologized that our orders had not been started yet, explaining that it was busy. I told him to start her order first since she was in a rush. I will say he kept cool and stayed calm while addressing this lady. A few minutes later I told him I had to leave to drop off my son (I live in the neighborhood) and would be right back. When I returned, he apologized again and offered me a drink on the house with my order. So, while the overall wait time was unsatisfactory, the customer service was excellent and am giving an overall 5-star rating. The food was delicious and so filling. Normally I love these kinds of bowls when I make it so thought I’d try it somewhere cause it’s always better when someone else makes it, right? I ordered online and picked it up. Getting into the car I already had a feeling the order wasn’t as I asked. There is a place for “instructions” when ordering online but it wasn’t followed.. I had asked for salsa to be separate on the side. But there was nothing “on the side” so I thought maybe the ToGo ramekin was inside the container. But it was not. And neither bowl had salsa in it. When coming home - Unfortunately pictures are always deceiving - First impression: it looks like everything was just slopped in there. Then going to mix it, black beans was the majority of the bowls. I get it, it’s cheap and don’t have to use as much of the other ingredients. But when your bowl turns completely purple/black, due to the amount of beans, it’s pretty unappetizing.
