Called in for a cake, got told why was I even bothering calling, was told to enter the store. Went in with my mask and was ridiculed by staff for going in and told to leave and go through drive through. When I explained that I was told to go in I still was ridiculed and belittled for being in the store. I still chose a cake and was then told that I was not wanted in the store and to go through drive through. I was told to go in and attacked when I did. There's a Dairy queen 12 blocks the other direction visit that one not this location as the staff are rude and make you feel extremely unwanted in their store. The only reason I bought a small cake was to get a receipt so I knew who I was dealing with so I could let everyone know and have a time stamp and a employee who I was dealing with. I am now on route to the other location so I can get some proper service. I would give a zero if I could for the reception I got from the time I called in to when I left.
Scott contacted me as the store manager and we had a great talk. He is very customer service oriented and a great person to chat with, he has assured me that this has been rectified at the store level, and their staff will be more accommodating for people during this pandemic. With this interaction I moved it to a 3 star as I feel as a customer my feelings were recognized and appreciated, I will however return at an undisclosed time to see how I am treated at that time and I will re evaluate my rating then. As for the time being my interaction with this location will stay here to inform people, call in tell them your story and let's make this a happy location to visit. I feel as if Scott wants to make this the best place possible to visit and cannot do it without peoples input. Leave a like if your happy, leave a dislike if you had an interaction such as myself. There are too many people that need employment to let bad service...

So I went up to the door and asked one staff member if my son (his birthday) and I could enter to select a cake. She was very nice and let us in. While we were selecting a cake, a second staff member came around the corner and immediately starting yelling at me and my 9 year old son! She pointed to the sign saying don't open. She never gave me a chance to explain we had been let in by another staff member. I was upset to say the least.... Not only was she yelling at my son, who already cannot have a birthday due to covid-19 restrictions. Yes I missed the sign, but it's just a simple wipe of a handle. Why is it that people feel they can scream at someone randomly??? We are supporting this business in a time when so many others are failing....AND THIS IS HOW WE WERE TREATED?!? We wore our masks and asked for permission to enter. We will absolutely never be back to this location and I hope everyone knows what kind of employee this owner has on staff. Everyone is stressed out these days but that is no excuse to act like this, ESPECIALLY when we are trying to support an Edmonton area business AND ESPECIALLY infront of a 9 year old trying to select his BIRTHDAY CAKE WHEN HE CAN'T HAVE A BIRTHDAY!!! Ā Ā Ā Read moreI've lived all over Canada, went here on 15 jan 2023 in the evening for a blizzard with my fiance. When we get there it's not busy at all in the drive thru, roughly 2/3 cars in front of us. We end up waiting around 10 or 15, minutes for the first car to get their order. By this time it's now packed with lots of vehicles behind us and 1 person behind us decides to turn out and blare in his horn as he leaves the drive thru showing how frustrated he is with how long these orders are taking. Now I finally get to the window after sitting for almost 20 minutes. All they have to do is make a snack size blizzard and a hot fudge Sunday sm. As the window opens there are these two teenage girls laughing having a blast for some unknown reason. Didn't get a sorry for the wait or any apologies after wasting half n hour out of my day for a snack size blizzard. Anyways we pay and now are waiting 5 more minutes for these 2 small orders. We get them and it's here ya go and slam the window on us. That was our interaction. Literally never coming back to this DQ .
TLDR: this DQ hires teenage staff who are rude, lazy and literally don't care about respect or treating others the way they would want to be treated. AVOID
