My family and I went here on a saturday night around 6pm. Restaurant was completly dead with no other customers. I assumed this was an actual restaurant but instead you grab your own menu, Sit down, decide what you want and then go to the front to order. 3 of the people in my group asked if the coffee was free refills. We were told that yes they were. As soon as I went to pay she told me that no they weren't that they had a Keurig machine and you only get one. I told her that she needed to go tell the people from my group that asked about the refills she was wrong and it wasn't free refills. She never came and told them I had to. They do not have any sort of kids meal. One of us ordered the brisket chili, I was told it was ok but over cooked and more like a dip with chips than a chili. The corn bread we ordered as a side was dry and came with no butter. I was told that the ribs were good, I had chicken with mine which was good, if you are looking for crispy skin do not order the chicken. The brisket was ok but mostly fat, more so than usual brisket, 3 of us made that comment. And the beans tasted very bland. Overall I would not recommend this bbq restaurant there are way better ones in the city especially for the price. I paid 170$ for 6 people to eat and had to get up and order the...
Read moreI generally don't write reviews unless the establishment is really good or really bad. This one is really bad and we aren't all that picky! Staff - Two high school girls on their own. No Manager and no cook. Service - There was none. We sat there for 15 minutes waiting to get served until I finally said something and was told that we had to order at the cash. Ordered some beer, waited and carried it back to our table. Had to go up to ask questions about the menu and order at the cash. The girl did bring our meal to the table though.....First the platter and then the two salads 5 minutes later. Beer - Terrible micro brewery stuff on tap. Cool but not cold. Food - There was a good amount and variety of meat on the Elvis Platter but it's not grilled. It's pre-packaged like M&M meats and merely warmed up in an (oven?). No seasoning or sauce on any of the meat, bland as hell, just a bowl of BBQ sauce if you want to put it on! The food was a little warm, kind of like warming up leftovers at home the next day. We joked about it but the fact is that I was a little embarrassed for taking friends there. To make matters worse my Daughter was sick (bad cramps, throwing up, diarrhea) this morning....
Read moreWe stopped in here recently for the first time to give it a try and had a pretty good experience. The atmosphere in the restaurant was great and the music choices were top-notch, but it was extremely loud and we had to half-shout across the table just to be able to hear each other over it. The service was friendly and helpful, if a little under-attentive. For a place that does sit-down service, it struck me as a little weird to be told to go refill my own drink if I wanted a top up. The food was okay. We absolutely loved the smoked sausage, chicken, and pulled pork, but the brisket - while flavorful, was dry, the ribs were a little under-seasoned, and the burnt ends were also super dry and chewy. The pit beans needed seasoning and a little more sweetness, the cornbread was on the dry side, and the coleslaw was average, but the potato salad was really good. The saving grace was the barbecue sauce, which was the perfect blend of sweet and smoky and tangy and really elevated the meats that were on the dry and bland side. All in all, we'd be willing to give it a second chance, maybe try some of the other menu items. It's worth giving this place a shot if you're a big...
