Allegro Italian Kitchen - Little Italy — Restaurant in Central Core

I have been to the restaurant and found the food excellent. There is one problem that is consistent with the 108 Avenue & 95 Street location and that is when you make a reservation and confirm the details with a staff person you find the restaurant closed for no apparent reason on the day of the reservation. This has happened to us on two other occasions, BUT on Friday, December 8th, 2017 there were 12 patrons who arrived at around 11:45 a.m. for their reservation time of 12 Noon only to find the restaurant closed with no lights on. They waited for approx. 30 minutes, knocked on the doors but to no avail and even called on the phone - no one answered. A group of senior women were among those with reservations, one called the restaurant later in the afternoon only to hear a representative (Owner?) state that he was on site at noon and opened shortly after noon, which was a non-fact. He was very rude to the senior woman and did not apologize either. This restaurant has a very good name in the City, but these types of situations diminishes...

My name is Yohannes . We came in for a brief vacation with my wife and very close family friends to Edmonton. As we were guests to the city we gooled for a Habesha restaurant. We found Mesob and Allergo restaurants On 95st. We chose Allegro. Good and respectful waiter/server. Menu we chose habesha cusuin over western. Very quaint and cozy dining room. Smells great with the sents of fresh Italian food cooking. I went with two other friends and we were all equally impressed. I tried the veal canelloni because many years ago when I worked for Sorrentos this was my favourite dish and the staff here told me it's better here. Because it was so long ago that I had not had it at Sorrentos it not really fair to compare but this canneloni was very good! I tried it with both tomato sauce and mushroom sauce. My other friend had pizza and it was also very good. I recommend this restaurant. Sorry I forgot to take pictures but...
