Unbelievable experience at Kin…

This new establishment has taken over the old Shojo space. I loved Shojo so when I heard about their closure I was very disappointed. But now that I’ve experienced everything Kin has to offer and the unique spot is no longer empty, I feel much better about how the space is being utilized.

Our visit here was impeccable from start to finish and every single item we ordered was perfection in terms of flavour and texture. From the charred cabbage, to the kin burger, to the tuna sourdough, and finishing off with salty jersey milk ice cream, this was a dining experience at another level.

In addition to the perfectly crafted food and drinks, the retro design of the space, the music and the great service are some of the things that pulled it all together to create an unforgettable evening.

I’m sure that the words I’ve used to describe this place probably already gave it away but yes, I would give Kin an overall rating of 10/10 without any hesitation.

I’ve been looking forward to visiting Kin for a while and it did not disappoint. Every dish we tried, every cocktail we tried, was a hit. The Bubblegum scotch flip was my favourite. They’ve only been open for just shy of two weeks but it looks like the staff have been working together for years now. Every staff member we interacted with seemed like a pro. It’s a beautifully designed room, stylish, low lighting, cozy, and very welcoming. I could write a 5 page essay (single spaced, not double spaced) about how much I enjoyed my time there, but no one wants to read that. But I can say that I’m excited to go back and try everything I didn’t get to try on my first visit. Kudos to the entire team at Kin! Our city needed a cocktail bar like this.

Oh and try the olives. Everyone does olives these days, but these olives are my favourite olives in the city.
