Ok so here it goes. The weather was so nice after a long time so me and my friends decided to go to a nice patio for dinner and it took us a while to finally decide on Anejo. I called and made a reservation for the patio for 5:30pm and was told that they have a table but we will have to leave by 7:30 as it’s reserved for another party after. I said that was fine and the reservation was confirmed.
Once we showed up at the restaurant the girl helping us, took us to a table indoors and I told her we had reserved a table on the patio. Without even checking she’s like no you did not. This is the table you booked. I kept on telling her that that’s not true and I specifically asked for a table on the pation but she kept on ignoring what I had to say. She kept on telling me that I was wrong (with a LOT of attitude) And kept saying that she wasn’t the one that I spoke to on the phone so not much she can do but to either offer us the table indoors or we can leave. Then I told her to find the person I spoke to on the phone to solve this issue as I knew we wouldn’t find any other places that would have an outdoor table available at this point. she left with a lot of attitude, to go find the other person. This was the last of this girl, never came back to apologize after being wrong and accusing me of lying about booking the patio.
Then the girl that had made my reservation shows up and confirmed that I had asked for a table on the patio. She apologized and told us that they had given our table to someone else and now our table was gone. So she wanted us to accept that table inside or go somewhere else. This was very upsetting as the whole point of us going out was to go enjoy the nice weather!!
She was apologetic but was not willing to offer us a solution, she said we could just wait for a table but might take up to 2 hours. We were willing to wait an hour but 2 hours was insane. And she did offer to cover a drink or two for us which again is nice but it’s not helping us. We never said we don’t have money and can’t pay for our food, we just said that we wanted to sit outdoors on a beautiful spring day. So her solution was ridiculous. Then I told her that we will wait but she needs to try harder than she was. So we waited for a bit then she came back after 10 mins saying that there is a table available but we’ll have to leave by 7pm as it’s reserved for another party. By this point it was 6pm and we were fed up so we said ok let’s do that.
We were seated at a 10 person table and had to order our food fast and eat fast and pay fast. We didn’t even get till 7, at 6:50 the guy came and asked us to leave the table. They did offer to seat us at the bar but with my 9 year old, I didn’t feel comfortable doing that. So we left…. Funny thing was there was a 4 person table empty the entire time we were there.
So for overall review, the food was decent but the awful experience left a sour taste in my mouth. I def will not be going to this place again as our entire evening was ruined, and we had to be rushed with our dinner.
She did cover the guacamole for us which costs $16, so I guess they were trying to make up for their mistake. For me money is not important, I live for experiences and the $16 off compared to ruining our entire evening was definitely not making up for anything.
Maybe others have good experience here but this was our experience. And to add a cherry on top, out server got my order wrong, and brought me something totally different and forgot to bring my friends food until we asked then he told us it was just sitting there in the kitchen for the entire time we had finished our food and the poor guy was just...
Read moreFirst time eating here for Mothers day dinner and food was pretty good but service was very slow. My sister has been vegetarian for 10+ years and ordered the vegan tacos. Everyone was asked if they had an allergy except for her. She was served the fish tacos, which looked like they couldve been tofu/cauliflower spears and had a bite. We understand mistakes happen, but this is obviously a big problem for my sister who has been strict for all these years. The waitress had a different story each time as to why she served her fish instead of vegan. They returned with the correct vegan tacos, and we kept the fish ones (they asked) since they wouldve just thrown them out, but then still charged us for the vegan tacos. She mentioned that they took off the fish tacos for us, which we didnt even order in the first place. We politely asked why we were still being charged for the vegan tacos as this was a mistake on their part, and the server said she would go speak with her manager about it. She came back with 25% off instead. Started to pay, and was still going to tip atleast 15% despite what happened, but as this was happening, my mom tried to politely explain to our server, Veronica? (Hopefully thats her name) why this was a big deal and why we asked for it to be comped. Veronica kept interrupting saying “ya ya ya, i get it, ya ya ya” not letting my mom get a single word in. My mom tried again to say something, and once again “ya ya ya, sorry bout that, ya ya ya, yayayaya” the most insincere apology ever. It was like WE were bothering her. This wasnt just the wrong meal or drink, this was a vegetarian being served fish because of a server error. She didnt get to eat any food with us after this happened as well, since she had to wait for the replacement vegan tacos, but did not feel well enough to eat. But i guess who cares there. The manager did not stop by the table even once to apologize, or check in. I worked in the restaurant business for many years, i get it, hence why i still was going to tip atleast the bare minimum, but this is NOT how you go about rectifying a huge mistake like this. Veronica, who was nice BEFORE all of this happened, started to glare at my sisters, my mom and I after i paid the bill and gave only a $10 tip due to her not letting my mom speak. She was clearly mad even tho it was my sister who shouldve been the only one upset. I regret giving her a tip at all after how she handled this situation, my mom even tried saying to her that she was great and she knows it wasnt her fault, (before the bill) trying to be nice but Veronica couldnt care less, and felt the need to not let my mom say a word, and to glare at all of us on our way out. We were discussing coming back too because some of us did enjoy our food, but that was before how they handled this issue, so not sure about that anymore, which is unfortunate. I would like to reiterate that myself and my 2 sisters all work in the restaurant industry and have for many years, so we are very understanding that mistakes happen, but the important part is in how you rectify the situation and being sincere in your apology. Veronica and the manager clearly did not care about resolving this in a professional and caring way, which is why i am leaving...
Read moreThis review is mainly for Fiona. I eat out quite a bit and can be critical but I have to say Fiona is one of the best servers I have had. Not only was she efficient and had great energy, she was genuine and intelligent. She explained just what needed to be explained on the menu, no more no less, showing a deep understanding of the menu and how their food is made while making the food seemed much more appealing (we ordered an appetizer that we didn't plan on ordering, and greatly enjoyed it). This was much appreciated because in other restaurants, too much unnecessary info can be given out when not asked, or the server can sometimes be too opinionated about foods they don't actually understand. Fiona's thoughtfulness was also a highlight: She wasn't the one bringing us the tacos but as soon as she saw we'd received them, she brought us napkins. When she had to explain something on the drink menu, she turned the menu towards me and pointed it out, leaving no room for confusion or misunderstanding and I cannot tell you how grateful I am for this, because sometimes guests can misunderstand the description of food from just oral communication. Throughout our meal, she also made us very comfortable: she never asked us questions as we paid, and left us alone when we seemed deep in conversation. I should add that the restaurant was packed, so it was impressive that we (and the other tables in her section) barely had to wait and that she always came by with little things like sauces, straw just before we needed them.
I hope Añejo knows Fiona is a keeper and if we come back, it's partly because of her! 5 stars overall but I gave 3 stars for the atmosphere because it was a bit loud (but that is no one's fault-just a typical...
