La Carraia Gelaterie Cafe — Restaurant in Central Core

We used La Carraia Gelateria Cafe to serve our desert for our wedding in October 2022.

I don't even know how to word how great our experience was with them. Booking was very simple and painless. The taste testing was amazing when we picked our 8 flavors. They showed up at our hall on-time and ready to serve. Our guests couldn't get enough. I know most of them went for seconds!! And the price, it was extremely fair. The wife priced out cakes and this ended up costing us quite a bit less than the average cake cost.

We did gelato rather than a cake for our wedding. Me and the wife both prefer ice cream / gelato over cake. All of our guests thought it was weird, at first. Then they tried the gelato and couldn't stop talking about it. I can't believe how people praised it throughout the night. Not a bad word was said about the gelato or the staff serving it.

The staff who served the gelato was VERY friendly and even entertaining at times. They would joke and have great fun with the guests. Offer suggestions on mixing flavors as well. I can't say enough good things about them. I was so happy to find such wonderful people to do our gelato idea instead of cake.

The flavors we chose for our 8 are... After 8 (like the chocolates!) Cardamom & Coconut Pistachio Vanilla Vanilla Bean Milk...

So smooth. So delicate. Extra fresh. The quality is superb, you must come here to try the pistachio gelato. This isn’t the first time I’ve had quality gelato, I’ve been all over Europe tasting authentic gelato and this store matches the quality, perhaps even beats it! Me and a friend went in here due to the crazy line up next door, and not wanting to wait we settled with gelato. Thank goodness we decided to come in here. We first ordered the three scoops gelato (recommended, as you get to try three different flavours for barely any extra cost!). And boy were we addicted from the first scoop we had. We finished the first cup of gelato (one scoop pistachio, one scoop peach, and one scoop strawberry cheesecake) and we were already hooked. We devoured the first cup in five minutes, and still craving, we settled for a second cup of gelato, three scoops yet again! This time we got Pistachio (a must), Lemon cookie (also highly recommended!) and Coconut (just as highly recommended). As you can tell we are already addicted and I will be using this cute little European vibe cafe as my go-to dessert place when out...

The two stars are for the good taste of ice creams period. The service is just terrible and if I had not visited in person, it’ll probably be impossible for me to believe in other’s comments regarding the rude and unprofessional service one female attendant offered. She is very cold through the whole transaction with no smile. We are not perfectionist and by no means we are expecting something going too overly friendly. We just need a very basic level of being polite and welcoming, that’s it. Also, We said very clearly that we want to have cones. She checked three times if we want cones or cups instead. These two words come with totally different pronunciation patterns and how could an attendant not able to understand it right after? I would be very interested in visiting again just to see if the manager is ever willing to do sth to change the bad customer service....
