La Prosciutteria in Edmonton is a true gem for anyone seeking an authentic taste of Italy right here in Alberta. I recently dined at this charming establishment and had an unforgettable culinary experience that left me wanting more.
Upon entering La Prosciutteria, the cozy and welcoming ambiance immediately sets the stage for an Italian feast. The rustic decor, reminiscent of an Italian trattoria, creates a warm and inviting atmosphere that enhances the dining experience.
The menu at La Prosciutteria is a celebration of Italian flavors, and I had the pleasure of trying their Tagliere and Panini, both of which were outstanding. The Tagliere, a traditional Italian sharing platter, was a delightful assortment of imported cured meats, cheeses, and antipasti. Every bite was a journey through the regions of Italy, showcasing the rich diversity of flavors and textures that Italian cuisine is known for. The quality of the ingredients was undeniable, and you could taste the authenticity in every bite.
The Panini was a savory masterpiece. The combination of fresh, focaccia bread with premium fillings was a match made in culinary heaven. The attention to detail in crafting each Panini was evident, and I appreciated that they offered a variety of options to suit different preferences. Whether you're a fan of classic Italian combinations or looking for something more unique, La Prosciutteria has you covered.
To complement the meal, I couldn't resist ordering the Burrata, and I was delighted to learn that it was imported directly from Italy. The Burrata was a creamy, heavenly delight that paired perfectly with the other dishes. The rich, buttery interior of the Burrata contrasted beautifully with its delicate outer shell, and it was served with fresh tomatoes and basil, a classic Italian combination that never disappoints.
The service at La Prosciutteria was exceptional, shout out to Natasha. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and passionate about the cuisine they served. They were more than happy to provide recommendations and answer any questions I had about the menu.
In summary, La Prosciutteria in Edmonton is a culinary treasure for anyone seeking an authentic taste of Italy. With its imported ingredients, exceptional dishes, and warm ambiance, this restaurant captures the essence of Italian cuisine. Whether you're a seasoned Italian food connoisseur or simply looking for a memorable dining experience, I highly recommend a visit to La Prosciutteria. Your taste buds...
Read moreWent in for high tea but left like it was a low tea. Food and drink was great and had no complaints about that. Food had also come out quickly but that is where service had ended. We were seated promptly and our server came by to take which tea set we wanted and was just told to select our tea at the front. No explanation was given that we were to pick out our own tea bags or water, only when we had asked the hostess what to do. Having experienced many high teas at different places, this is a first for us where we had to go select our own teas physically. As stated above our food and drink came out in a timely manner but that was the last time we spoke to our server. There was also no explanation what foods was on each tier or what was what. Afterwards throughout the tea noone had checked in on us to see how things were going. Asking for the bill was another task as we had asked for the bill but noone had come by with a machine to pay. Instead we saw our server taking her time to clean up a table that just left while we waited. I had time to go to the washroom and still noone had come with a machine and I saw the server just chatting in the back. I had to ask for her to see where to pay before she brought a machine over. We had waited about 10 minutes before that all occured. For all the restaurant had known we could have walked out without paying. We had also noticed that other tables had gotten sugar bowls for tea and tongs for the food whereas we did not see any of that. To be honest it was like we were forgotten and neglected as our server seemed to be focused on the back. Overall food was good but service was terrible. We would have been okay with going up and picking out our own teas if the server took a minute to explain that was how things worked. Would have been nice if the menu at least had a list of the foods being served and if not a quick summary when it was being served. Also it would not hurt during service to have someone to check in occasionally to see how things are doing. Would not recommend to friends or go back until service can be consistent and...
Read moreI had high hopes when I made my reservation for a Friday evening. I had been following them on instagram for months leading up to this. We ordered the caprese salad, the burrata and shared a tagliere. There was plenty of food for four of us no question about that. Our reservation was for 7:30pm and one of our party has a gluten intolerance, so we did our research ahead of time and saw that they do offer gluten free bread. To our disappointment they were out of gluten free bread...at 7:30pm...on a Friday. So we made the best of it and my friend simply ate a carb free meal. Unfortunately the meal was underwhelming. While the caprese salad was fresh and flavorful, the other items were simply ok at best. It took 45 minutes to get the board (I think they forgot to put the order in) and when it came out Nothing was special on the antipasti board. A handful of olives, some grapes, some meats and some basic cheeses (wine cheese? Emmenthal?) that you can honestly find at Costco. Where was the pecorino romano? The caccio cavalo? The crotonese? Where was the good imported stuff?
The wine was nice, the beer was cold and they kept our glasses full.
The music though.... too loud and too random. From backstreet boys to Dean Martin it just didn't set the atmosphere.
One more thing I need to mention was that the padded stools at the high top tables were terrible. We moved to a short table within minutes. (much better especially with how long we were there for)
Again, I had high hopes and was super excited to go but it all fell a bit short for us. Good luck to you but there is definitely room for...
