Decided to catch an Edmonton Oilers game at Rogers Place which of course is located in Edmonton's Ice District. This seems appropriate at it was -36C outside. The district is not completed yet, a work in progress. There are many restaurants and pubs in the area one can take advantage of prior to or post game. We dined at the Lux (see other review) in nearby Commerce Place and used the pedways to enter the arena which also crossed through 2 hotels (Sutton Place and JW Marriott). There is ample parking and an LRT station in the area in case you want to use public transportation. If there is a hockey game or other large scale entertainment event in the arena, traffic can be a challenge however it almost ends as soon as it starts. Of course, if you are considering a romantic evening out with your significant other, why not take advantage of the nearby hotels, have a fine meal, attend an event, and walk back to your hotel. Also makes for a nice stay-cation.

The security guy next to our seats was amazing. Very kind to my daughter. We sat behind the Oilers bench for her birthday surprise. Food was good. Pop was a bit flat but didnt expect much.. bathrooms were nice and close. Club seating. We didnt have inseat service due to covid and staff issues, but the concession was not much further than the bathrooms. My daughter got to see all the Oilers up close and personal. She really enjoyed her first NHL game. Skinner gave her a head nod and a smile before the end of the game which was kind of him. Found out that I could of made the nite a bit more of an experience after the game was over and we were at home. So if you are going make sure you ask if they do stuff for the kids going to their first game.

Fantastic nigh. EDMONTON moves on to round two. The venue is well run, especially with the number of people that had attended, inside and out. I recommend the playoffs and attending. The night was electrifying with well-behaved people. The police sure did an outstanding job. Thank you, Oilers, for the memories, and I am sending a video to South Africa for them to see what a city does when they win. The team really sticks together as a well-oiled machine. When one person has a misstep, the rest of the team pick that member up and come out on top. This is a must for the next away game. Come one come all that can.

Was in the ICE DISTRICT yesterday for Game 6 of the SCFs, and many of us wondered why the screen encouraging the overflow of ppl that couldnโt get in to go to a local restaurants, WASNT PLAYING THE GAME! Restaurants were jam packed slammed and turning ppl away. So yeah I think most people figured that out on their own. PUT THE GAME ON ALL THE SCREENS! And for anyone reading this! Get down to the Ice District on Monday! Itโs going to be lit!! Line up started at 10am roughly yesterday and was MASSIVE by 2pm! 4pm doors open! GAME SEVEEEEEEEEEEENN!! ๐๐งก๐๐งก
