I stopped in Port Stanley on a trip and I had dinner here and I would sincerely regret if I had ignored the opportunity to write a review for this restaurant because Two Forks is more than just a restaurant. It's a culinary experience that transcends the ordinary. From the moment you step inside, you are greeted with an ambiance that promises an unforgettable meal. My recent visit, shared with my mother, exceeded all expectations and has set a new standard for dining experiences. For my main course, I chose the classic fish and chips, accompanied by coleslaw and fries, paired with a dry cider. Each element was executed with precision and care. The fish was perfectly crisp on the outside, giving way to a tender, flaky interior that melted in my mouth. The fries were perfectly seasoned, and the coleslaw provided a refreshing counterpoint to the richness of the fish. My mother opted for the chicken dish, which was a revelation. The chicken was incredibly juicy and tender, infused with the vibrant flavors of capers and Italian seasoning. It was a symphony of taste that left us both in awe. The exceptional quality of the ingredients, made every bite a moment to savor. It's rare to find a restaurant that so effortlessly balances classic dishes with innovative flavors, but Two Forks has undoubtedly achieved this delicate equilibrium. Two Forks is an absolute gem that deserves the highest praise. Whether you're a local or just passing through Port Stanley, I wholeheartedly recommend that you treat yourself to a meal at this exceptional establishment. It's an experience you won't soon forget and one that will leave you longing for a return visit. Thank you very...
Read moreStopped in as we visited the town based on the Calipso festival which basically ended on Sunday! Whoops. We found this place for a late lunch and it was pretty good overall. Four of us shared the burrata as a starter and it was quite a good share plate with 6 pieces of toasted bread and a good amount of tomatoes, balsamic and basil. Two of our group ordered the burger and fries (highly recommend this meals- the fries are excellent as is the burger), while one had the Harissa cauliflower and I had the Puttanesca. They were both good but a bit heavy on the tomato sauce. Would suggest for the cauliflower to serve it with either more of the yogurt dip or (even better) some white rice or other side to break up the tomato. It might have also been a bad choice with the burrata starter. As for the puttanesca, spot on but again, in combination with the burrata it was too much tomato sauce and I had to steal the fries from one of the burgers to reset my taste buds. Local beers are quite reasonably priced. Service was a bit slow for us- two tables of 3 came and left before our table for four was served our mains but this might have been due to the holiday Monday? Key takeaways- Food is quite good once it arrives. Not sure if smaller groups are easier to manage but for four of us, it took longer than we would have normally expected however, since the Calipso festival was pretty much over, we found we had nothing much to do but sit on the beach so we were not too fussed. Patio is lovely No A/C in the restaurant so definitely...
Read moreAlas we were unable to dine at Two Forks.
My wife is vegetarian and as a result I review any restaurant where we plan to dine, visits its website and review their menu offerings. Whilst I realise the menu changes as seasons, product availability changes the review gives us an idea of what to expect. As we entered the restaurant there was a sign telling us “Please wait to be seated!!! We will seat you: - -when you are the bottom of the ramp -and when we are fully ready for you. Great things come to those that wait and are patient. What happened to a simple “please wait to be seated “? Next when the server appeared she asked us if we had a reservation, yet the day before we called and were told they did not accept holds. She frowned, left, and returned a few moments later with menus and summoned us to follow her.
We were seated, reviewed the daily menu, and realized there was only one vegetarian entrée option and three vegetarian appetizers. My wife’s only entrée choice was a peanut and noodle dish, she wondered if her chosen wine would be suitable with such a strong flavoured dish and asked if she could have a sample, taster, of wine and was told they don’t do that, she then asked if she could then have the potato and vegetable that accompanied the steak dish as a meal and again was refused. At this time, we decided to leave. We were disappointed not to be able to enjoy your dining area and a pleasant evening together with friends. Perhaps you could remind your staff of the meaning of hospitality. Yours in...
