782 Taphouse — Restaurant in Central Elgin

We went for supper and had their pizza/wings special. Added a salad and mozza sticks. After sitting at our table for an hour our salad and mozzas made it to our table. 20mins later we got our wings then our pizza. During this time another table had come in ordered, ate and paid for their food before we even got our salad/mozzas. When i got up and asked the waitress about our food and why the other table has finished and we had not received anything i was told it was because we ordered appitizers and they had had just pizza. Husband and I had lunch here on Saturday. He ordered fish and onion rings. They were both cold. He tried to eat the fish out of the batter and when he got to the last piece it had raw batter on it. I ordered a blt and fries with gravy on the side. The fries were seasoned which I don't care for,, the gravy was clearly from a can or a package..it was like gel. Instead of a blt I got a blt wrap. I was fine with this at first until I started eating it and it wad really dry..no mayo. Our waitress didn't return until I was halfway done eating so I could ask for some and at no point did she ask how...

This is a lovely restaurant. Clean and neat. The service was quick and accurate. We have been there a few times before, and always enjoyed their pizza, but we wanted something different this time and went with the "Stork club" sandwich. Piled Turkey with bacon, lettuce, tomato and cheese sounded great. It was extra to have salad instead of fries. The sandwich was served on a Ciabata bun. It tasted good, but there was only 2 thin slices of turkey and the bun was most of the sandwich. Not our favourite., think we will stick...
