Brentwood Bay Village Empourium — Restaurant in Central Saanich

This has become my favorite coffee shop over the last few months, and I go almost every Friday night to listen to music! It is easy to go there alone as an older woman because everybody is so friendly and sometimes I get invited to sit at another table for company. Everybody is just so friendly and the owners have established a true community spot for listening to music as well as enjoying delicious drinks! I usually have a light dinner while listening to the music and love their salads! Now if you happen to come on a Sunday morning and perhaps even on other mornings, also make sure to order the Belgian waffles with homemade Berry compote and whipping cream and vanilla yogurt . Simply fabulous ! Oh and if you come in the afternoon, make sure that someday you order an Affogato! They have them year-round which is amazing! When a minor mistake was made with a specialty drink I ordered, Alice the owner offered to comp me the same beverage on my next visit! I was not expecting this at all when I made the comment about my beverage, and was really surprised at her response and of course delighted! I plan to bring many friends to this coffee shop to enjoy Friday nights out, and the music is always wonderful! A wonderful little coffee shop. Indeed an escape from the hussle and bussle of downtown Brentwood Bay. The store has an atmosphere of warmth and cheer. Staff are friendly, polite, and experts in their craft. Chatty, but won't talk your ear off. Lovely people. I had a large dark roast coffee and a slice of banana chocolate chunk loaf. The coffee was delicious - my only disappointment was when it was finished. I would have had more but alas my bladder was completely full. And so of course i used their washroom facility - it performed flawlessly. The banana chocolate chunk loaf was moist and fresh. Delightful. The owner is incredibly rude towards customers. I was in here about a month ago and she completely ignored me while I was waiting to be served. After I sat down with my drink and food, I noticed that someone she knew walked in. She was extremely friendly and chatty towards them. When they left, she thanked them for their business however when I left she said nothing. I thought I would give this place another try however upon my second visit recently I was again left disappointed with the service. The owner needs to change the way she treats her customers regardless of whether or not you know the patron personally.
