I would have really wanted to give this more stars but as the night went on...things just got worse with our dinner experience. My family of 4 sat on the patio last night for dinner. We ordered drinks which were OK. My husband ordered the old fashioned and we ordered wine and soft drinks. The waitress brought us water that was warm so I would recommend that when serving water on such a hot day it's cold or even has ice. Our food took surprisingly long we had reservations for 6 and the food didn't come till 730. The waitresses explained that they ran out of burgers and they were making fresh... totally understandable it happens. However it must have been something else because almost 4 tables got served that were seated after us and two of them had burgers. My mom got the steak and frites and instead of frites got a salad. I wish I had a picture because the steak was sitting in a soup of juices. We also got the mussels, chicken burger and regular burger. All OK nothing to rave about. Fries were cold on both sandwiches. My mom asked the waitresses if she could order a side garlic bread or bread to mop up the steak juices. It took 10 minutes for it to come and they literally served plain hamburger buns topped with some oil and parsley. That was kind of the end of our experience. We were shocked. See attached picture. I would recommend to the kitchen staff and restaurant to have better communication... And not to send out hamburger buns as your garlic bread... Or if you ran out of something to just let your customers know we would have understood. She did take the garlic bread off the bill as we didn't eat it.

We stopped in for some drinks and light snack , we got the Pulled Pork Croquettes and the large Charcuterie Board for our group of 4.As per recommend by the waitress we got an extra bread plate. The prices are a bit high including the 3 cocktails and a beer $100 before Tip. The croquettes were literally 2 oversized deep fried pulled pork. The bread was excessively drizzled with balsamic which no one at the table liked. The Charcutruie board was drizzled with Balsamic as well which was strange. The board looked nice but half of the board was heavily pickled items and apples and oranges again with balsamic. Yuk, we didn't eat that side. We ate around the balsamic drizzle on the deli side there were 3 small portions of goat cheese, blue cheese and a Gouda with a small assortment of basic smoked chicken or turkey, salami and spicy Calabrese. Not high quality , basic store deli product. The waitress made a comment as she took back the nearly full board and said I guess you couldn't get through it. We said nope couldn't eat that, she didn't seem to care. Overall drinks were good, made with local distillery products. Mediocre food, someone attempting to fancy up the meals with non complimentary accompaniments which ruined it for us. I've never seen so much Balsamic vinegar used.

Great bar/restaurant, delicious food, and fantastic staff (shout out to Max, Rachel, and Sean). What else can you ask for! This restaurant came recommended by a number of locals so we decided to check it out during our Elora get-away New Year’s Eve trip. The staff was super friendly and great company. Skip the tap beers and try some of the unique cocktails here because the bartender, Max, makes fantastic drinks (recommended: gingerbread old fashioned & cranberry margarita). We showed up just as the kitchen was closing and they were able to accommodate us which we very much appreciated. Took the chef’s recommendation and tried the fried chicken with mashed potatoes & coleslaw & southern gravy (must have!). The southern gravy was so good we tried to convince them to sell us a take-home bottle of it. We wrapped it up with a Crème Brule and Max’s spiked hot chocolate. Overall great vibes, great company, and great place to dine! Will be visiting again.

Wow! My partner and I highly recommend the Handsome Devil Bistro! The Hostess's greeting, the décor and the tunes immediately made us feel like we walked into a happening place for us to enjoy our meal. They have an appealing cocktail menu and craft beer list that isn't overly complicated. We were thrilled to discover Vegan options on their menu, not just a typical veggie stir-fry or pasta dish either. It was obvious to us that true creative effort went into designing these plates - pleasing to both the eye and the pallet. We opted for the Crispy Brussel sprouts (not pictured) as a shared starter and we each had The Handsome Devil Bowl as our main. Delish + satiating! Our server, Bri, was on point! She was friendly, engaging and knowledgeable and most of all - fun! Both Bri and a visit to our table by the Chef made our whole experience more enjoyable. Such a classy touch to see the Chef make his rounds. Thank you - we will certainly be back!

You have to be patient with the wait time. Nearly 55 mins of waiting after giving the order, I lost my appetite! So to begin with on a weekend it was definitely busy but got a seat inside right away. Ordered the crispy brussel as well as the main course. The crispy brussel arrived in barely 15 mins and were super awesome. Personally loved the dip. However post this the wait just would not end and we had to wait another 40-45 mins , by the time food arrived barely even had an appetite. The smoked portobello mushroom rice bowl was filled with undercooked mushroom and lacked flavors. The burger was just average. If you plan to spend the entire day exploring Elora and not just sitting at one place then do check in advance how long you have to wait for the food.

My husband, dog Marley and I just had a wonderful experience having dinner on the patio at The Handsome Devil. The host was super friendly and immediately said hello to our dog and highlighted that they offer a dog menu as well. We ordered a beer and a pineapple mojito to start! Both were delicious! We shared the brisket poutine, Cobb salad, and Bajan mac and cheese. The portions were generous and everything was really flavourful. We also ordered the quinoa brisket bowl for our dog and he devoured it. Our server Leah was so friendly and kind. She brought a fresh bowl of water over and gave our dog some pets making him feel welcome and comfortable. We will definitely be back when we visit Elora next.
