Wreckless Eric — Restaurant in Centre Wellington

I was at the cafe three times already. The second visit I asked for a scone and I was given a muffin which I did not think was a big deal, mistakes are made. The second time , which was a couple of days ago, I asked for a scone and coffee. While I was sitting at the table I was called out from the tilt and told that my payment did not go through. I replied that I saw it being approved but I offered to pay again using another card, just in case I was wrong. While having my coffee, I was checking my accounts to see what happened. The lady at the tilt saw me and came to ask if I was ok. I wasn't of course enjoying my coffee now. I explained that I am almost sure that I paid twice and explained her the reasons. She then said that she trusted me and paid me back the amount I said I paid the first time , which included a tip. I said Thank you ! Her reply was " I wish someone would do the same to me". I did pay twice, my bank accounts are proof. What do you think about her comment? , it certainly did not sit well with me. That is not a cafe I would go back to . PS: that second time the scone...

Wow this place is an absolute disaster. Really living up to the name.

While we waited for our order a woman came in who ordered some banana bread and she said it was moldy!! The woman said I hope I don’t get sick, then the barista brushed her off and said “it’s not that much”. I read another review that said they also got a moldy piece of banana bread. It’s clear that they are selling day olds without even telling anyone, or even 2+ days old. We were scared for my bfs breakfast burrito. Luckily it was fine but extremely mid and disappointing. It was flat basically and had a lot of wholewheat tortilla just bunched up, cheese wasn’t melted, etc. coffee was bitter.

All of the employees were extremely young and it seemed like they don’t even know how to run this place, or even have a concept of management.

Visited this cafe over the weekend with my boyfriend and can easily say it was the worst cafe/restaurant i've ever been to. -the atmosphere was dark and dirty (with loud punk rock music)...we didn't realize until after we had ordered/paid just how unsanitary everything was-kitchen, countertops, coffee machine etc. -the young girl on staff (the only staff member there) seemed absolutely miserable and couldn't be bothered to even welcome us when we walked in.
