Maybe they changed their over charging (scam) tactic after my visit but I asked for 2 regular ice cream cones and the server charged me an extra $4 for waffle cones (pre tax). The receipt showed I was billed for waffle cones. The total seemed odd, but I paid so i can see the receipt after and why it was so high. Then I pointed it out to them.
The owner said it was my fault somehow and kept pointing fingers at me and raising his voice. Then he proceeded to stereotype me and generalize that I haven’t been in Canada all my life by saying: “in this country we pay tax!! The extra is for tax in Canada” (even after I explained the math 3 times). I let him know of my life long understanding of tax in Canada. After which he resorted to blaming me for not telling the employee they picked the wrong cone and I should’ve told THEM which cone is regular or not. I’m supposed to teach them the job?
When I asked the server, they said he’s always told them to do it this way. I asked “this way meaning pick the most expensive cone when someone asks for regular to charge them more at cash?” And she shrugged and said “I’m just doing what I was told” His behaviour was off putting and rude. Blaming me? Even after I paid and I’m pointing out a mistake for ur future? Then hushing when new customers come to hide this scam tactic? And telling me to leave after talking down to me? Keep taking advantage of the naive tourists and not showing receipt before payment. And all this for basic high sugary mass produced...
Read moreSo I have read reviews about this place before posting mine now. Apparently that rude and totally messed up person (her) is an owner (I can hardly believe that)?? Anyway, she was already very unfriendly when it was my turn, she said to me "DO NOT TOUCH THE COUNTER" and she went absolutely, totally out of her mind when I asked her for an extra cone. I always order the second cone for my ice-cream and it always causes good smiles and humorous jokes about the way I eat my ice-cream with 2 cones. That person (she) started yelling at me saying I have to pay for it (obviously, I always pay for it), then she walked herself to the guy behind the cash register screaming about charging me the second cone. When she left him alone, poor nice older guy told me he gives me that extra cone for free as the "house's gift". I said: "I did order it, I am paying for it, why this all is causing any issues?" Then that really strange woman just yelled at everyone inside the place and said to everyone to leave, and closed its doors. Really??! That was absolutely insane. I have never seen that kind of customer attitude and simply do not understand how that person can run ANY customer-related business. They have to be aware of that issue, not everyone can properly handle serving the clients, nothing is wrong with that. They simply need to hire a person with a NORMAL attitude to serve their clients in a proper and...
Read moreThe lady owner of the eatery is grumpy and rude. She kicked out my 5 year old son for simply asking for a spoon by saying “STAY AWAY”. I ignored because we did not avail their service and had to calm down my disappointed son. Furthermore she furiously came running in to a spot on which we were sitting. She asked us, did you buy from my place? Upon our answer which was NO, she said to leave the place and go somewhere less RUDELY with a harsh tone. I said to her we will leave as it’s your right or your spot but you don’t have the right to be rude. She replied I am not rude you should leave now and signalled us a direction out!!
I said to her to were rude to my son by denying him a spoon and asked him to stay out, upon this she replied harshly that I AM A SCIENTIST AND A PHD I AM NOT RUDE!!
When we left she did say sorry, I replied to her that you should be, she said NO and left. I agree we were sitting at a designed spot (however no reserved spot was mentioned), we also left without any quarrel but the lady behaved very badly.
It is disappointing when visitors support local vendors but owners like these who have no manner set a bad example. Perhaps learn manner from eateries around her. As an owner if you are having a bad day at home or business, doesn’t mean you charge aggression towards your customers!
