Went to Elora with 2 friends on Nov 28/21 and happened to come acrosd Sweet Distractions ice cream store. We didn't even enter the store after reading a sign in the window that said, "MASKS ARE MANDATORY *NO EXCEPTIONS). Where does he get off! Health Canada distinctly states that there are exceptions to NOT WEARING A MASK 1. CHILDREN UNDER THE AGE OF 2 AND 2.) ANY MAN, WOMAN OR CHILD WITH A MEDICAL EXEMPTION TO WEARING A MASK. Apparently the store owner thinks he can override Health Canada regulations. Personally I'll never enter the establishment of someone who we witnessed leave his store not wearing a mask and returning a few minutes later not wearing a mask. So there is an exception to the rule...
Read moreFriendly and helpful staff, and great ice cream. As with any ice cream shop, it's expensive and you can buy a whole tub at the grocery store for the same price, but you're paying for the experience and for the flavours that you can't necessarily get at the grocery store.
There is plenty of candy for purchase as well, but most customers on the day I visited, including myself, were here for the ice cream. Everyone in my family enjoyed the ice cream and sorbets that we ordered.
I wouldn't spend this kind of money on a regular basis, but this place is certainly a good option for a treat...
