Grillades Du Fort — Restaurant in Chambly

Food wasn't fresh at all 🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮. The meat was not fresh and tasting weird and super chewy and has no flavor . Yesterday was my second visit to this restaurant , the first visit was a year ago . I ordered the same plate (Octopus) And a plate of calamari as appetizer ... The calamari was super chewy so you have to swallow it as is , after i complained, the waitress came back with a new plate of calamari and she said that the chief was surprised of my complain and the chief is saying that the calamari is frozen so after being frozen and you cook them it can be a bit chewy !!!! I don't know if this was a right answer from a chief , because i am not here to eat old frozen food!!!! Then i got my Octopus dish that comes with rice , and i got salad on the side and my GF she got a dish of shrimps comes also with rice and veggies ... The octopus was burned more than my first visit , BUT the taste was awful , it was also chewy and tasting old like really old , it was just tasting old no flavor taste and the rice was extreme dry and became yellow and there were big pieces of rice that sticks to each other making big table spoon size pieces , it was a rice that have been in the fridge for some days so got dry and become yellowish and tasted off. On top of all of these we ate the food cuz we were dying hungry after 5 hours on the boat in the water , i still dont know how we ate that disgusting and old food . My girlfriend's shrimps was same problem (frozen old food) and we think they weren't grilled same day cuz the shrimps were super attached to the wooden sticks and some of them became like a paste and falling apart 🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮 I have a pic from 2024 for the same dish and the one of yesterday and you clearly see that there is no presentation for the dish like before and the rice yellow and dry and the meat more burned but unfortunately you can't feel the awful taste. The only good thing was the waitress , she is the blond young girl that is wearing glasses , she was really good and trying to help and she offered us free sweet but i didn't accept it just because i was not looking for something for free and also i paid the bill and i left tips . EXTREMELY RUDE AND UNWELCOMING SERVICE, BE AWARE We made a reservation September 13th at 4pm for 5 people (neither lunch or dinner time because we were welcoming guests from abroad after having full brunch earlier in another venue). All was fine at the beginning, we explained that we planned to stay until just before 6pm due to later plans, so we order a sangria pitcher, 2 drinks a la carte and one irish coffe, and asked for the menu to order an entree to share. Then is when the problems started. Waitress Sabrina showed up with a totally rude aproach and told us that our order was disturbing “her dinner service” and if we dont order more food we would need to leave. We were so embarrassed with our guests, but at the end we were already there so instead of leaving we end ordering 3 entrees eventhought we were full. Sabrina rolled her eyes and accepted the order, without telling us that ‘she’ was making an ‘exemption’ for us. We decided to let it go and enjoy our party. No need to say that she was never attentive to the table, passed by or asked for feedback. While we were ready to leave around 5:30pm, Sabrina showed up again and told us (on high voice) that unless we order more, the table was reserved. We ended just talking among us that it was really a waste to have such a nice small spot served by people that does everything to make you feel unwelcomed. We took a short trip to visit Chambly and as my friends hadn't had lunch we decided to go to the restaurant "Grillades du fort" . The guy who greeted us was friendly and immediately pointed us to a table and the waitress quickly served the drinks and took our order. Unfortunately my order arrived before everyone else and after waiting almost 1 hour for the other orders, we called the waitress who promptly offered to replace my sardines as they were already cold once the other dishes are served. When we received our orders, my sardine was partially burnt on the outside but raw on the inside, with the fish's entrails still raw. The fish intestine was not removed spreading a bitter taste when I tasted it. We asked to speak to the manager (or owner) who, upon arriving at the table, explained that this was the correct way to prepare sardines in Portugal and that we didn't understand about the dish. I argued about the fact that the sardine was raw inside and still contained fish feces, but the manager responded aggressively and arrogantly, saying that we were offending him and that we should Google how to eat sardines. My friends ended up losing their appetite after seeing the inside of the raw fish mixed with the entrails, we asked for the bill and left very unhappy with the place....
