It is my worst day in PEI because of the front desk Chinese girl with yellow short hair in this restaurant. Tonight, my friends and I had dinner in Madwok. Yes, by the way, the name is absolutely right, driving customers mad and work completely. Actually, we ordered four dishes, but the front desk girl missed one beef dish. Ok, that’s fine. But when I asked her for more empty bowls to share meal. She told me none with super bad attitude and rolled her eyes at me when she heard this requirement. And let us have meal only by existing ones. As a restaurant, they did not have empty bowls for customers to use. Kidding on me? That was so ridiculous. The girl’s attitude really got me back up. Then another guy took three bowls from back and gave me. The girl shouted to her colleague and spoke mandarin very fast about this matter. Sorry about my poor mandarin, I could not hear clearly. I was shocked by her. But obviously this was driving her mad and angry as well. Later she served with other people with fake smiles. One question, am I wrong or does she treat Asian look differently?
Secondly, the price was very weird, I ordered one hot pot with beef and chicken. But why the front desk girl charged me extra CA$3.29. From the price list, it should be CA$1.5 or CA$3.0 (if she misunderstood). This was calculated by myself. The front desk girl only gave me credit card copy not order copy. When I asked for that, she printed out reluctantly and another Indian guy said that was system problem, even they told me their boss’s cellphone number and let me contact by myself. I was astonished by that. I did not know why she worked here. She was very disgusting because she destroyed my day and I felt super angry tonight.
Overall, I was disappointed to this restaurant and especially the girl’s attitude really got mad at me. Having meal in Madwok was an utter disaster to me tonight and I...
Read moreI always loved it, went there at least once a week. Last week I noticed they reduced the sizes significantly. I went in to order pickup, waited and left home when they gave me the order, when I got home I noticed they gave me the wrong order so I called on the phone (a few months back this happened and they offered to send the correct order directly to my house). This time they asked me to go in to pick it up, but said that I could keep what they had mistakenly given me. When I arrived, they acted as if though they didn’t remember the phone call, I had to explain myself several times since they kept questioning me, ended up saying the policy was to return the incorrect order ( I think they didn’t believe me). Luckily I did bring the incorrect order with me so I took it from my car and showed them, they even argued that everything in the order was correct except for the base (they gave me rice instead of noodles, also it was missing 2 of the veggies I asked for). They finally said they would prepare it again but that they would keep the incorrect order. I respectfully let them know that usually, when a restaurant makes a mistake like this, they let you keep the order or give you some sort of discount, at least a sincere apology. The guy who took the container looked at me and turned around without responding to me, I just asked for the money back and left, the girl who spoke to me over the phone seemed ashamed but the other guy wasn’t being too nice to her, blaming her for telling me I could keep the order over the phone. Anyways…long story short, it was very bad customer service, I hope it was a one time thing because I really like the place and it left me not...
Read moreI am giving this review because I was asked to by the man in the restaurant. When we walked in and were ushered to a digital menu to take our order. We just wanted to sit and relax and order with a menu. The prices seem Ok until you order something and realize you have to add your protein on separately. Also I didn’t get the noodles I wanted but I don’t ask for new food once I get it. The food was not good. it seemed like someone trying to make Thai food for the first time. Also the chicken in the Pad Thai was deli pressed chicken. For the price and amount of chicken I would think it would be small pieces of one chicken. I recently had much better in Halifax for less than half the price. Two items and two drinks for $44. I won’t be back. I’ll check out the other Thai place down the road. Also one more thing, when I’m putting my own order in to a machine because I was told to, why does it ask me how much I want to tip? I hadn’t seen any food or sat down and I’m being asked to give extra money...
