McDonald's — Restaurant in Charlottetown

AVOID!! The WORST McDonald's in Canada! This location's franchise permit should be revoked. I have visited 40+ locations across Canada and this one is by far the worst and should be penalized by #mcdonaldscanada for their substandard practices and food. I first want to point out that 95% of all my orders are fulfilled within the McDonald's app and therefore miscommunication IS NOT an issue.

Let's start with order accuracy. Order an irregular coffee and you get a commonly ordered coffee. Order a defined number of muffins, donuts of varieties you choose within the McDonald's app and you get assorted and stale leftovers they are trying to push out the door. Order a burger without a condiment, and you get a burger with ONLY that condiment or worse, the condiment scraped off the burger patty and bun and still delivered. The food quality at this location is terrible. Buns are stale, burger patties are seasoned heavily and are typically dry, coffee and soda is watered down and best of all, fries are more than 50% heavily salted compared to the standard. This location is within a gas station where there is no seating and inside lineups can be long, so the drive thru is typically what people use here. That being said, there are only a few times per day that there is a significant backlog of customers and even when there are no customers in the restaurant or in the drive thru, they will ask drive thru customers to park in the fire lane in front of the main doors of the gas station, which causes every gas station customer leaving the store to be inconvenienced all to reduce their drive thru times when all you ordered was a McDouble or a coffee and muffin, which are THE most common and ready to go items on the menu. This makes 0 sense to customers but it's obvious that everything this location does that defies McDonald's standards is to increase the franchise owners bottom line. I stopped visiting this location a couple years ago when new owners caused this concerning problem and since then have visited approximately once per month due to it's location and each time I stop by, I think "hey, it really can't be that bad.. all the other times must have been a fluke.." but no. Of the last 8 times I visited this location they have messed up my order 100% of the time with giving me items that I did not order or with ingredients that were 100% different than what was in the order in hopes that I drive off and just deal with it. Well.. here's how I'm dealing with it. Here and to corporate.. Good luck to this disgusting location and it's terrible...

The food is typical McDonald's fare, and like most McDonalds, the quality of the final product varies drastically. I've had the near-perfect burger and the everything-slapped-together version from there. Ordering anything other than the standard menu options seems to simply be ignored - good luck.

However, the service needs help. I have, and know others who have, literally walked and driven away from trying to place an order because they were ignored at the counter while standing there, and/or gave up trying to understand the McDonald's employee or need understood by them at the drive thru. Can't wait for AI-assisted ordering because ordering from these people is an effort in frustration. I usually drive the extra 10 minutes to go the regular location. This called the McEsso by the locals (it's located in an Esso gas station).

Be prepared to wait, be delayed because you can't get the staff's attention, a product of random quality production, and generally a poor experience.

Suggestion to McD's regional manager: hire people who can understand English & French, who actually understand Customer Service principles, Canadian food handing and health regulations - and who act as if they actually want...

OMG! If this isn't the fastest morning drive-thru experience, i don't know what is! We came around 10am on Friday Aug 20 2021, there were couple of cars but as soon as we finished ordering, they had us paid with no wait at 1st windows and then the orders for the 2 trucks in front of us had already been served so we received our 2 breakfast meals again with absokutely no wait. I was amazed since i live next to a McDo that is the slowest on Earth in my opinion. I read that some people had bad experiences at night but i can't comment about that since i have been here only once... and have been satisfied! The only thing though... they forgot the 2 sugars in my coffee... so they lose 1...
