Dockside Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Chestermere

I'm torn on this spot. When we first moved into town, this place was amazing. We loved coming, and planned on being regulars. Lately, this pub seems to get more and more run down. We came last night for a dinner date, and immediately when we sat down, I thought it smelt like cigarettes. I thought it was maybe just another patron, so I shrugged it off. As people came in and out of the pub, I realized that there were people outside smoking closely to the door and it was wafting in. As an ex-smoker, this is immensely distressing, and essentially ruined our dinner. The steak sandwich I had was surprisingly tender, and the cesar salad was good. My husband ordered a Philly cheese steak and fries with gravy. We never got the gravy, the fries were way too crunchy, and the meat was dry. I have had their pizza in the past, and would order for carry out, but this will be the last time we come here sadly. To me, having people smoking so closely to the door the smoke comes in is unacceptable, against city code, and makes it feel dirty, aged and gross.

I went there a couple months ago in August 2015. We were going for a day on the lake. The place is so well located, but I've never had such terrible service in my whole life! The place had a max of 50-60 people with about 4 waitresses who didn't seem to know what to do. It's like they didn't have a section. Took an hour to get the food (don't know if it's only the kitchen's fault or if the waitress forgot to send the orders in?!) On top of that, waitress was the rudest I've ever seen. If she doesn't like working there just quit, and let other people who thrive customer's service take your place. She forgot half the drinks people ordered,never came to see if everything was ok. Just awful service. And what a suprise we had when she arrived with 1 bill for 7 people, with a 18% gratuity included in the price!! Unbelievable! I hope the managers can see this message and,hire people who want to give this place THE thing missing which in my opinion makes a restaurant survive, GREAT servers and GREAT kitchen staff. It was such a shame since the place is beautifully located. Being in this industry, I really hate to give a place a bad review, I've never done that before but the service...

Normally I love this place, however after tonight i will probably never go back or recommend anyone to go there. My wife and i went there for a paint night and we arrived shortly after 5pm. We ordered drinks then food around 5:15, our appetizers arrived In a timely fashion however we didn't get our entrees until 6:30. When our food finally arrived the fish was nasty and over cooked, my wife had a hard time cutting it with a knife, my pizza had toppings on it that I had asked to be removed at time of order. It took the manager 15 minutes to come and talk to us after we complained about the food quality, he essentially was full of excuses and stated they were busy tonight (not even close to how busy they are during the summer.) I should add that when we arrived and ordered food there was us and 5 other couples in the bar and by the time we received our food people who came in 30 minutes after us were already eating.
