I recently had the pleasure of visiting La Diperie in Chestermere for the first time, and I must say, it was a delightful experience! Upon arrival, I had the opportunity to chat with the new owner, who was incredibly welcoming and eager to share his vision for the place.

The atmosphere was warm and inviting, making it the perfect spot to enjoy some delicious ice cream. The service was outstanding; the owner was friendly and offered great suggestions from the menu.

My son was particularly thrilled with the cotton candy ice cream, which was a colorful and fun treat that he absolutely loved. We also decided to try the affogato, a delightful combination of ice cream and espresso that was simply divine.

I wanted to send a client some treats as a house-warming gesture. The challenge was that I'm in Calgary and the client is in a new community that is not yet included in googlemaps. And so, ordering online delivery was not possible since the client's address would not populate. I contacted La Diperie and spoke with Inder. After explaining my situation, she was gracious, personable, and willing to find a way to make things happen. None of this was their normal protocol and they aren't set up to process credit card payments manually. Still, Inder was willing to be flexible and went out of her way to deliver the donuts to a very hard to find home in a new community. I'm so thankful for her efforts. Given the apparent coordinated effort from individuals of the same cultural background to discredit this company, I decided to visit the location myself to determine whether the negative reviews were valid or simply part of a smear campaign. I tried the cone dipped in the warm hazelnut coating, and it was absolutely delicious. The service was friendly and attentive, the space was clean, and the pricing was reasonable for the portion size.

It’s disappointing to see members of the community tearing down a local business instead of supporting it. Rather than helping it grow and succeed, some seem more focused on spreading negativity. One can’t help but wonder if this stems from jealousy or simply a lack of better things to do.
