Located in a bustling part of the city, Malwa Punjab, Chilliwack offers a vibrant and authentic taste of India. As soon as you walk through the door, the aromatic spices and colorful decor set the stage for an unforgettable dining experience.
The menu at Malwa Punjab, Chilliwack showcases a broad range of traditional Indian dishes, each crafted with a careful balance of spices and fresh ingredients. To start, the samosas are a perfect choice—crisp, golden, and filled with a flavorful mix of potatoes and peas. The pakoras, lightly battered and fried, are equally satisfying.
For the main course, the butter chicken is a highlight. It features tender chunks of chicken simmered in a rich, creamy tomato sauce that strikes a delightful balance between tangy and sweet. The biryani, with its fragrant rice and succulent meat, is another standout dish, offering layers of complex flavors.
Vegetarian options are also impressive. The paneer tikka is a must-try, with its succulent chunks of grilled cheese in a spicy, tangy sauce. The chana masala, made with chickpeas and a robust blend of spices, pairs beautifully with the freshly baked naan.
Desserts or traditional Indian Sweets at Malwa Punjab, Chilliwack are a sweet ending to the meal. The gulab jamun, with its soft, syrup-soaked dough, is a comforting choice. The mango lassi, a refreshing yogurt-based drink, is the perfect complement to the spicy fare.

Read moreFirst of all, the restaurant is very beautiful, clean, and elegantly designed. The music playing was really fun, and as a Ukrainian-Turkish family, we really enjoyed it. The prices are also quite reasonable.
I mentioned that the restaurant is clean, but we did notice a small stain on a glass that might have been overlooked. However, when we pointed it out, they immediately replaced it (I’m not deducting points for this).
The reason I’m not deducting points is that the food was truly delicious. Having tried all the Indian restaurants in Chilliwack, I can confidently say this place is definitely in the top 3.
Now, the only thing that disappointed me was the desserts. You can’t order just one; the minimum order is half a kilogram (although you can mix different desserts in the package). I wanted to try two pieces with my wife after our meal, so I was a bit disappointed, but I’m not deducting points for this.
Other than that, the staff was very polite and attentive. Unlike many restaurants in Canada, they don’t come to your table every minute asking if you need anything—they come when necessary.
Overall, I really liked the place. My only suggestion would be to allow customers to order desserts individually...
Read moreIf you are seeking authentic Indian cuisine with robust, spicy flavors, this restaurant is an excellent choice. We ordered vegetable samosas, palak paneer, tandoori chicken, chicken and fish pakoras, and butter chicken in both mild and medium spice levels. The dishes were outstanding and true to traditional recipes. The butter chicken was flavorful and well-balanced, while the palak paneer was creamy and delightful. The tandoori chicken was tender and perfectly seasoned, and the vegetable samosas were crisp and satisfying. Overall, the meal was exceptional.
The only minor issue was that I requested two orders of vegetable samosas, but it appears one may have been omitted unless the pricing was $3.50 per piece. However, they included complimentary rice that I had not ordered, so I chose not to raise the matter. I also inquired about red chutney, which they seemed not to offer. These details are insignificant and will not deter my family from returning. Notably, dine-in prices are more economical than takeout, with an approximate $1 surcharge per item for the latter, as indicated on the menu. In summary, this has become our preferred destination for Indian dining, whether for eat-in...
