The quality has unfortunately gone down further (3 --- 2 star)
The biggest issue I have with the pizza made here is that the cheese does not stay on top of the pizza and will actively slide off with the slightest of angles. I pick up a slice and like a cheese sheet - it slides off in one solid layer of cheese and this is consistent across many pizzas we've order from here.
Seven additional minutes in the oven at 400°F after getting it home was not enough to add any level of crisp to the bottom section of the pizza - the crust however was sufficiently crispy after the 7 additional minutes in our oven.
I've done a small amount of research on what might be causing your ingredients to slide off the dough. You may be baking the dough while it's still too cold (~40°F) where as it might bake better closer to (52°F - 55°F). According to a GM who's worked at a national pizza chain this is due to the moisture in the sauce which causes a gel-like layer on the surface of the dough after it's been cooked which may cause the toppings and cheese to slide off much...
Read moreI can't explain to you how bad the pizza was. the crust tasted like bread. There was no crunch to it and it had a weird yellow colour to it. The way they topped the pizza made the pizza horrible. They put all the toppings on first and then cheese on top of everything. Therefor, all the toppings under the cheese ended up sopping wet from the steam under the cheese. It's common sense. Cheese first, then the rest of the topping. That way you don't get wet mushy toppings and the pepperoni can crisp up a little. I tried really hard to eat it but it was disgusting. It was inedible. I would say it's definitely one of the worst pizzas we have ever had. I am giving an honest unbiased review here. People who think this pizza is good must be slow... I'm baffled. P.s to to top it all off (no pun intended 😋) You can tell they must pay for he cheapest ingredients. The quality of the ingredients is disgusting. They should really call the pepperoni bologna instead because that how terrible it tasted....
Read moreOn December 2nd 2023, I came to visit Rockland for the very first time and happen to stumble across Rockland Pizza when I was looking for local places to eat as I always would when visiting a town for the first time.
I must say, the pizza served by this establishment was super good. Not only that, it was my very first time eating a pizza in which the cheese was locally supplied instead of using the big name dairy places that most pizzas are made with. The dough was also really good and flavorful.
The atmosphere of this place was also very accommodating and the owner is super nice. Would definitively come back here if I we're to visit Rockland again....
