Would have given a 5 star review, beautiful rooms and accomodating staff- until this morning.
Whoever is managing the hotel this morning, May 24th, is doing an awful job. Everyone I've dealt with up until today has been wonderful.
This morning, the bus load of kids that arrived last night (who were making a terrible racket until 12 am and tying up the wifi until 2 am) were outside of my door still making noise. I came out into the hall and spoke loud enough over them to say "keep your voices down guys, people are trying to sleep" and went to the front desk.
The manager heard me raise my voice over them, and then accosted ME for "yelling at the children" and to take my complaints to the desk. I said "well I'm at the desk now, and I don't appreciate the kids being allowed to loiter in the halls yelling at each other" he told me they'd be gone soon. The kids watched the manager speak to me this way, and so when I got back to my room the children were taunting me, kocking on my walls and laughing at me.
I am incredibly angry. I have done nothing to disrupt anyone while I've been here. To have the finger pointed at me because children have 0 manners these days is too much! I'm incredibly unimpressed and deeply insulted that this manager seems to think NOTHING of the needs of the patrons paying to stay in your facilities!
Suggestion- don't allow bus loads full of kids into your hotel! If people (including kids) can't conduct themselves with MANNERS and follow RULES, noone who is just trying to relax should be stuck here dealing with that when they have paid you to quietly rest in one of your rooms. A few kids isn't a big deal, but when you let dozens of these ill mannered children RULE the place, it's NOT FAIR to your other patrons!
If someone complains that they feel disrespected, you don't put the onus onto them. You're serving PEOPLE because THEY give YOU money. The way the manager behaved today, it's like I'm just a nuisance, like you guys are doing ME a favour by taking my $1500 and unloading a pack of wild children into the hotel late at night. I was literally surrounded, either side of me, across the hall and above me....
Read moreStayed here last year and the service was great, just spend 4 night there and my room never received any service, I was told "due to covid" you'd think a hospitality company would want to clean more often. I was told rooms are only serviced every 3 days, on the 4th I was told that there were many people who checked out so priority was to clean those rooms before and they had no time for rooms people were staying in. The hotel has 46 rooms I only ever saw 6 or so cars in the parking lot the 4 days I was there. Can't tell me they were too busy. For paying $120 per night I feel extremely ripped off. I'd rate it zero starts if possible. I will never stay there again, which is a shame 'cas I had planned more trips to the area. There were two others with me on my course each had their own rooms and neither of them were serviced all 4 days. The "breakfast" is cheap and the croissants were NOT fresh baked. You'd be doing everyone a favor by just not dropping bags off outside their rooms and discounting your room fees for serviced you can't provide. I'd say you offer about $30 worth of service. far cry from $120 you charged me. I can respect the environment and I can reuse my towels but after 3 days and 3 showers I'd like a fresh set, also I shouldn't have to come down and ask for toilet paper this is very BASIC service, I'm paying for more than a roof over my head, get on board. Covid is not new, we have all been in this for a while, if you haven't or CAN'T adjust then just close. or better yet TELL YOUR CLIENTS UP FRONT I know if I knew before hand I'd have chosen to stay at a different place. If you're having staffing issues, charging more for less service won't help your bottom line, maybe the managers and owners need to dig in and pick up the slack. Very disappointed with the service, or lack there of and when I requested a new room after 3 nights I was told "I can bring you new towels" Sorry, your business had the chance to do that for the last three days, clearly it's a challenge so new rooms were required. I hope all of my $480+ was used up and you made zero profit, you...
Read moreRooms were nice. TV wasn't working, although, upon checking-in we were advised to contact the front desk if there were issues with the TV (we chose not to because we knew we wouldn't be watching it anyways). The internet wouldn't stay connected, I was told when checking out that they've been having issues with their internet for awhile now (all throughout the hotel, including the front desk/office. That's Bell services for ya, lol). Room does not come with a microwave, although there is a kitchen area by the front desk that I believe has microwave and anything else you would need. Hotel is in a great location. There are a ton of amenities that are within walking distance, and anything that is not within walking distance is a very short drive away (5-10mins tops). Service was good. Was able to ask the front desk for some things that were needed but had forgot to pack (like a fresh razor for my hubby). The online pre check-in is a great option, just make sure to do it at least 30+mins ahead of time ( rather than as your pulling into the property ... like I did), so the system has time to register the pre check-in upon your arrival.
I am only giving the room a 3 star because of the lack of microwave (I would rather not have to leave my room when wanting a midnight snack that requires heating up/"cooking"). Also because of the issues with the TV and the internet. Especially the lack of internet, it is after all a "Conference Center" for business. I would think having functioning internet should be a top priority.
Again though, rooms were nice and spacious. Bed was super comfortable. I loved the layout of our room (we got a single king bed room, on the main level). There was also a nice little patio outside of our room that we quite enjoyed as well. 🙂😊 Would definitely book again if ever staying in the Rockland area. Oh, and there's also a continental breakfast. Not many options. Some fruit, pastries, and cereal --- I believe. There's also a Tim Hortons, Starbucks, A&W, as well as a few breakfast restaurants all within a very close driving...
