Used to be a regular at this place but I will never be back again.
Ingredients: What I used to come for especially was the Fish burrito. They were large pieces, crispy on the outside, super juicy on the inside. Today I got a fish that was in half of a huge burrito, 80% batter, with dry fish inside. HOW DO YOU DEEP FRY A FISH DRY?!?! Secondly, the hot sauce is now incredibly salty. My best guess - they've sold out. They used to make the hot sauce in house with a pure pepper flavour and just enough seasoning to draw out the best qualities from them. Now it's like a generic store bought hot sauce with too much salt and not enough spice/flavour - all other notes of the sauce are diluted out due to how salty it is.
Size: My burrito probably shrunk to half the size over the years. A huge barely fills me up anymore and is likely not worth the extra money. I used to drive from North Oshawa to this location for burritos but now Bang Bang Burrito has taken my preference title. Actually even Jimmy Guaco's is preferable now.
TLDR; What used to be a great burrito place has sold out, even after increasing menu prices to combat rising food prices. They are trying to squeeze from both sides, giving you smaller portions, inferior ingredients while utilizing the food prices to justify rising costs. Based on my experience today, I will never...
Read moreHorribe experience at this store today. I can not imagine how arrogant people can be. After tasting my bowl, I went back to the counter, and requested them to add souces since it was missed. I kept on saying that there is no sauce in the bowl, to which she kept on saying that it had been added and I need to pay extra if aditional souce is needed. I asked her to confirm with her colleague on which sauce was added, and she bluntly said burrito. When I asked to show me , she said she doesn't know and can't show me. If I need sauce, I need to pay extra. Meanwhile, another guy came from kitchen, put his spoon in my food , stirred it, and confirmed that their was no burrito sauce was added and he could add it on top. To this, I said that since my food was touched and I am standing here for past 5-10 minutes trying to convince them to add sauce, please replace my bowl with a new one. Rather than apologizing for the mistake, he said that I should have pointed it out during preparation of the bowl and it was my mistake. This request to replace the bowl was also bluntly denied. I was so disgusted that I left my bowl there, and left the restaurant without food. Never...
Read moreGave two stars for the reason that the food was edible; not fantastic but the girl that served me and my boyfriend was awful. From the sounds of it it’s the same girl all the other reviews are mentioning. Went tonight around 5 (April 10th) and there were two girls. One making orders for online and the girl who helped us. She was so rude to me (a little nicer to my boyfriend lol), gave me the dirtiest look when I asked for no beans on my taco, and wouldn’t let me ask questions before cutting me off (it was the first time I’ve ever tried Fat Bastard). She also mentioned how I couldn’t sub absolutely any toppings on my taco if I got rid of any. Whether this is a store policy or it was just her, sounds pretty ridiculous. Also did not crush up the chips, which I’m pretty sure you’re supposed to do because they’re always crushed on my boyfriends burrito. In terms of store, it’s weird the tacos don’t come with cheese and you have to pay extra for cheese, isn’t cheese an often used and relatively cheap topping for tacos? Wasn’t impressed, probably won’t...
