We stopped here for lunch on our way back to Vancouver and I have to say, at first glance, I was very weary. Don't let the outside of this place fool you from going in. It almost fooled me, but I'm glad we decided to give it a shot. We were the only ones in the restaurant on a Friday afternoon. There was only one person serving, and I think they were also the person cooking the food. The vibe was a bit odd, and the service wasn't really there, but the food was soooo good! I had the Combo B and my partner had the Combo A. The sweet and sour pork was crispy under the sauce, and the sauce was delicious. The almond chicken was also delicious - crispy, not too greasy, and good flavour. The chicken chow mien had a beautiful light sauce on it, with actual chicken and veg. The pork fried rice appeared to have frozen veg, but this didn't hinder the rice at all and it was also delicious. It was also delicious the next day as we took some home for leftovers. I was completely surprised by the food and it made up for the odd environment. This is going to be my new (not so) secret spot when travelling...
Read moreWe were super hungry and my hubby and I were both in the mood for Chinese food. Turned out, this was the only Chinese restaurant in town. We should have driven away when we saw the place. Their tea pot tip was replaced with a piece of rubber tube. The food was not evenly cooked as some bits were cold, and their Szechuan style chicken was not very appetizing. We had quite a lot of food remaining but we didn't take any of it with us.
I honestly wouldn't recommend this place to anyone, I felt quite disgusted to eat there. Luckily my stomach didn't bug me, that was my main concern. The place doesn't look that clean, and not...
Read moreThis restaurant is pretty run down. Plastic on the windows, tape holding stuff down, an electrical bug zapper on the inside of the restaurant! Decor is super tacky.
But on another note, the food isn't half bad. We ordered the curry chicken, Shanghai noodle, chow meim and mushroom and vegetable dish. It was pretty good. I didn't get too bloated, so I'm sure they didn't add too much MSG if any.
Every dish is $15 to $20 so our total was $90 with tip. I'm not sure if this is normal or not, but somebody told me that BC stands for bring cash, lol.
Not much choice for Chinese food in Clearwater, so if that's what you want, this is the...
