Having lived in Riverdale, formerly Greek Town, in Toronto for 30 years we are very familiar with greek food. Corfu did not disappoint for lunch this past Friday and lived up to the reviews we read on Google. The atmosphere is down-home local...wait staff very friendly and efficient. A shared appetizer of calamari rivaled Joso's in Toronto and outdid anything we have had on the Danforth. A shared trio of dips were obviously homemade and equally delicious. Came across this place for lunch on a recent visit from Toronto, and I was absolutely blown away! We dined in (takeout is also available) - our server was extremely sweet and helpful in making recommendations, and was very prompt in making sure our food was prepared in time. As for the food - simply amazing! You can taste the freshness of the salads and in the shrimp saganaki, and the gyros were grilled to perfection. Today I ordered a Take Out, Chicken Souvlaki Dinner, by phoning the Corfu Grill, in Cobourg. I was very impressed with the efficient service of the Staff and the quality of the dinner. I arrived after ten minutes and my order was ready. The cheerful Hostess greeted me with a smile and quickly presented my order. The dinner portion was very large and could actually serve two people.
