My new husband and I arrived in Collingwood on our honeymoon around 8 pm. Checking in to our hotel we decided to go for dinner as we had no food in the room. Seeing as Swiss chalet is where we had our first date we thought it fitting to have our meal there. Upon arriving the server told us due to it being slow they shut down the dining side of the restaurant but we were welcome to order off the Togo menu on the Harvey side and air and eat there but we would have to have it in to go container. We said that's fine so we went and ordered our food . The girl that served us was nice enough . But asking her what they had to offer other then pop she made a face and responded well apple juice or bubly. Not many choices tbh . So I had to take apple juice . We then got our food in the to go containers and they have us wooden forks and knives we tried to eat our food with the cutlery provided but we were unable to do it with success so I went to the counter and asked kindly if we could have some metal cutlery as it's quite difficult to eat the the wooden cutlery. I explained why it was important to eat there on our first night of our honey moon . The girl said no we don't have metal cutlery. I asked if we could use some from the dinning side of Swiss chalet and she said no she can't give it to me. So I asked to speak to the manager . She then looks at the other girl next to her and says sure . She then proceeds to walk away and says something to the other girl and smirks and laughs. I said I don't appreciate the attitude. She brought the supervisor to me and I explained the question and the supervisor gladly gave me the cutlery no problem. I understand new employees may not know they can accommodate certain things upon request but it's not ok to make a customer feel like they are imposing on the server. We spent over $40 at this location and to be treated this way is highly inappropriate . I will not be returning to this location during our stay...
Read morePlace is brutal. I was picking up food for Powerline Workers in the ice storm. We ordered 18 meals and we received 12. The workers we all working in the bush climbing poles trying to restore power to the people. When I went back to get the missed boxes they argued with me and checked the video surveillance cameras. You’d think I broke into the place. I really didn’t have time to come back and try to get “ free chicken”. It was paid for by the company so why would I be worried about not buying enough. The security photo showed a cardboard box with 5 white plastic bags in it. And they tried to tell me how many meals were in each white bag which you clearly couldn’t see lol. That’s probably a generic picture that they all have lol. Well they wouldn’t give me any meals to feed the rest of the men. So I left. This is a dirty restaurant. The fake leather is pealing of all the booth seats. The chicken thighs looked like they were cut off a bumble bee. It was a joke. It’s just a bad place. Anyway that was my horrible experience but I can tell you now, there won’t be a second. Later that week we were sent to Orillia to help out on the storm and I went to country produce and ordered 22 meat sandwiches. When the guy got them made he said, no charge. Thank you for helping get the power back on. What a difference from the Swiss Chalet in Collingwood. No customer service at all anymore. What has changed in this country in the last 15-20 years I...
Read moreWent to this Swiss chalet location in Collingwood on July 30th at around 7:00 pm. Greeter was very unfriendly and looked as if she didn't want to be there. Waitress came over after a while we asked to be moved because we were seated by the bar and it was very noisy with the glasses clanging next to our ears she smirked and just ignored us twice we never did get moved. Told us first of all there was no buns left. I ordered quarter chicken white meat and mashed potatoes my friend ordered chicken on a bun and mashed potatoes we also had spring rolls. Spring rolls were good dinner took ages to come. My mashed potatoes were cold and I had the worst looking piece of quarter chicken I've ever seen in any Swiss Chalet. Tried to get the waitresses attention told her the potatoes were cold she brought over a small plate and put it down on the table and I didn't know she was behind me and she said "well " and that meant she wanted me to put the mashed potatoes on a small plate so she could take them and heat them. I had also mentioned about the chicken she totally ignored me. Mentioned chicken a second time I was just getting fed up with the whole scenario and then she said well do you want another piece of chicken. There were flies flying right into the food and onto our hands the whole experience was just awful. We live in Niagara and frequent Swiss Chalet a lot in our area but this particular one in Collingwood we will never go...
