Our recent stay with this resort was less than wonderful. We originally booked at the resort across the road but as it was under renovation we were moved to this resort which is supposed to be a higher end facility. It isn't and I look forward to staying at the newly renovated Living Stone Resort once completed. ||Our room was not ready when we arrived, but we were able to complete the check in process. There were 3 to 4 people at the front desk at that time, approximately 2:30-2:45. We were sent a text at about 4:15 that the room was ready. We then made our way to the front desk to get our keys, there was only one person on the front desk, there were 2 groups in front of us and before we reached the front of the line there were 5 or 6 groups behind us. Why was there one person left to handle the busy check in time by himself? One other individual come back to the desk when it was our turn. Our wait was at least 20 minutes. Really not acceptable.||Once in possession of the key, we went to our room, where we found the door left ajar. We found during the stay that the door did not close unless pushed to do so. ||During our stay we found many issues with the room (I think the number was 2212). Some of these were mentioned to the front desk when we checked out. We also sent a separate email to the management to which we have still not received a response.||Specifically, the under counter light activated by the microwave did not work; the toggle switch on the bathtub faucet is stuck so that the water comes out of the shower head only; the USB ports by the table/chairs did not work; the water temperature in the shower only got Luke warm, at most, then hot cold, warm, cold, warm, etc.; at 10 p.m. on Monday evening, a staff person was outside our door at the garbage/recycling room to empty the bins, not an appropriate time to be doing this job as we were in bed trying to go to sleep; the on/off button on the TV remote did not work (we got it on by the button on the TV itself, and never turned the TV off during the rest of our stay; all other buttons worked); we also found the kitchen tap leaked at the counter top connection when running hot water. ||We noted that the bedside lights and the room lights on opposite side of room are all on one switch. Not very convenient. What is the point of having bedside and reading lights when they only work if the other room lights go on at the same time? These lights need to have separate switches.||We also noted that there are no safety bars in the bathroom. As a lot of the clientele are older, it would behoove the resort to have bars available for exiting the bathtub, especially as the tub was very deep.||Given the toggle switch on the tub didn't work, we had to fill the tub to use the jets by using the shower head, then the temp of the water was not warm enough to enjoy it. About 45 minutes after using the jets and the tub had been emptied, the jets came on by themselves, ran for about 2-3 minutes and then turned off by themselves. I was later told by a friend that this type of jet tub does this but there should be some form of instructions provided in the tub area to advise you of this. ||We found this room was subjected to excessive noise from the numerous laundry carts that came and went to/from the linen chute which was directly across the hall. At times it felt like I was staying beside a railroad. The bins the staff use to move the dirty linens are very noisy. Perhaps the resort should look into mitigating this issue.||There was also a lot of noise from other guests entering and leaving their rooms who allowed their doors to slam shut. The resort should consider installing self closers to minimize noise and disruption. ||We also noted that the shower could use a very thorough scrubbing of the grout as well as a cleaning of the front of the tub around the access panel. ||It would also be nice if there was some entertainment areas for adults, like a pool/billiards table, area to play cards, like cribbage and euchre, scrabble, yatzee, etc. ||The lobby area provided free coffee in the mornings which was a bonus. ||There is a pool with a slide and two hot tubs one indoor and one outdoor. Unfortunately, when we were using the sundeck around the outdoor hot tub, parents allowed their children into the hot tub to "swim" and splash. One mother told her child to go ahead and splash on the side opposite to where she was sitting which was going to splash us as the people who had been sitting there left. She said "go ahead there is no one there". I voiced an objection her which she didn't seem pleased with.||It would be nice if the hot tubs could remain to use by adults only especially given there is a very large pool for the children to play and splash in. ||We did use the onsite restaurant and found the staff quite pleasant, the food and drinks were very good but they are on the upper end of the price range. ||There is a roof top deck area which is quite large and has comfortable seating and great views of both the water and the mountains, unfortunately there were quite a few wasps that had settled in to some of the gaps on the wall edges so we didn't spent much time up there. ||The exercise room is pretty well equipped with various machines and weights but there is no room to sit on the floor and to stretches or exercises. Perhaps lose a couple of machines to provide a small area for this, or relocate this room to a larger area. ||The staff were friendly and we had no issue with them, but the cleaning staff need to respect the guests and give way in hallways when encountering them. We had to squeeze by moving bins of laundry at times and no one said excuse me or stopped to let us go first. Just...
Read moreif I could give this negative 5 stars I would. ||Please read all the reviews you can/check Reddit ||Let’s start with when we arrived at the living stone golf resort. The hotel is under construction. The staff is very rude. There is mold and water damage throughout the hotel. The remodel to the hotel was done with very pour craftsmanship and is like it is only half done. Was a horrible experience from right when we stepped in the door. Has a bates motel feel. ||Next was the golf. I play golf almost every weekend where I am from. The staff at this course was very rude again (seems to be a very common trait at the property). The course was so backed up that we ended up only playing 12 holes and took almost 4.5 hrs to get there. We found out that there were workers from the resort/golf courses playing in front of us. We were waiting at the tees for 15-25 mins before we could tee off and there was two groups right behind us waiting. was a complete waste of time for us. ||Spa was nice but again the staff were not friendly and welcoming at all. Not a good look when trying to pressure people into buying into the time share. ||Next is the 90 minute presentation. This takes place at the living water resort. To start off we did complain right away about the living stone resort and the manger from vitality vacation came out to talk to us. We told her the problems we have had while there so far. She did switch us to the living water resort to try and fix things. But did lie to us about the living stone not being owned by this Mr. Larry law. Which was a big lie to try and keep us interested in purchasing time share. As he does still own the living stone resort. The lady that gave us the presentation was super nice and not to|Pushy at all. But once we said no they took us to another room where we did feel very pressured. |Please do your research about this |The same owner of Living Water Resorts, Vitality Assurance Vacations, Law Development Group, Credit Corporation of North America Ltd. |These are all the companies that seem to be involved in the time share process. |Non of these businesses are accredited by the better businesses bureau please look them up on the “BBB website”|Please do your research on Reddit lots of information there. This will help you out to make a good decision for yourself. It may be good for some but not for everyone. As we were leaving there was another young lady in the elevator with us and one of the sales men was in the elevator. The sales man made multiple rude comments to us about not buying the time share from them. So|Much for no pressure sales. Please do your research about this. ||Lastly was our stay at the living water resort. The staff were still rude and seem like anything you asked was a major inconvenience to their day. This resort was not under construction by the looks of it but still had a lot of building materials kicking around. This hotel was also dirty and beat up. Water damage again throughout this one. Looks like a 3 year old painted the room We were sent to. Not easy to navigate around the hotel. Landscaping was horrible. They are asking almost 40,000$ to invest in the property and then 1560$ a year in maintenance fees. I would not give them 1$ to stay here again. We where very interested in learning and possibly moving forward with a time share purchase as we are young and felt like we could get very good use out it of. But after this experience I would never do one or a presentation again. After the meeting we did a ton of research and found out a lot about them. ||What we thought would be a very nice experience for a get away for our 2nd anniversary and a way to get an introduction into time shares, turned into an exhausting, frustrating and horrible experience. Right from start to finish was a horrible time. You would think with the amount of reviews they respond to and say that it will be forwarded to management over the past years everything would change. These comments on the reviews seem to be more damage control as seems like nothing has changed...
Read moreOne of the worst hotel experience I have ever lived. I have been to every continent except for Antarctica and stayed hotels all along 30 different countries and I can easily say that this one was one of the really bad ones. First of all don't fool by the spa word written next to the hotel. There is none, the spa they claim was an indoor pool nothing more. There is a separate spa place next to the hotel completely working separate and good luck to find a spot. They don't provide any spots for the hotel guests it is clear that they should remove the SPA in their name because it is misleading big time. They literally instead of helping ask us to find another spa. We are guests at your hotel it was extremely rude how we were treated.
We specifically came for our anniversary to have a wellness retreat and stated that before our arrival but they completely ignored us because apparently their main interest is retired people so they can sell timesshares instead.
The bedding, linens and the room temperature is a joke. How can I get sweaty and cold at the same time while just trying to sleep under worlds loudest ac unit. Everything seems to be from 1960's and rust is all along this establishment. I was genuinely surprised they actually clean the pool because the pool dressing rooms are nothing but horrifyingly dirty and rusted. The walls are paper thin and we can hear everything from the other visitors while we just want to have a calm vacation. The room is so called lake view but in reality it is looking towards to car park. It is a total let down in the first day and sadly our stay includes one more night. I genuinely thought to ask for a refund and return back home but the customer service in here seems also horrible so I didn't even want to argue with this establishment for my sanity sake.
The restaurant have really nice cocktails but the service is really slow and they want you to finish everything and leave as quickly as possible. We were interrupted several times by the waiter while we are having our meal. It doesn't feel like a service but they were asking constantly that are we done. Even I told the waiter that I will let him know he approached with the same intention couple more times. I just wanted to have a peaceful welness retreat with my wife and let down by this establishment big time.
It was a total let down to pay around 300 cad per night to have the exact same amenities that a Toronto condo unit has. We are sorry for the establishment that we are not a retired couple but we are stupid enough that we thought that we can get some wellness retreat for our anniversary here.
Living Shore is another establishment, so having an access from your resort doesn't make your resort actually have spa in it. It is completely different establishment which doesn't care about the hotel guests.
Then I would love to just arrange a visit to living shore instead of paying a lot of money to just stay in overpriced resort without any amenities and even without housekeeping. It feels like a scam all along. Living shore is a spa. Living water is just a resort it is not resort and spa. THEY NEVER LET YOU KNOW THAT YOU NEED TO BOOK THEM SEPARATELY. This is not just our complaint, if you scroll through all the reviews you will see that it is a common occurrence and the establishment way of dealing with this situation to blaming the customers.
The answer from the establishment is more of a defense rather than any sign of apology or fixing the situation. I am still a guest in their resort and instead of fixing the situation or helping us in any way to get rid of any of the problematic issues that I listed above they just defended themselves. Overall super selfish manager, non existent customer service. Instead of helping their guests they would love to argue with you. STAY AWAY AT ALL COST.
I am also adding the decibel score of the so called 2000's ac unit to the review. If needed I can provide a video of the situation to show how much disturbing it...
