Okay gelato with rude employees.
The one woman working behind the counter when we got there didn't say hello nor even acknowledge our presence for the first two minutes we waited... There was nobody ahead of us she was just ignoring us while she made a sandwich or something. After placing our order (2 small cups and 1 waffle cone) she repeated the order and specified, "a medium waffle cone?". There was only one size of waffle cone displayed on the counter so I said just the regular one. She replied quite rudely "I just wanted to confirm" and slams the card machine on the counter.
While the gelato wasn't bad, what left an aftertaste was the lack of proper customer service we received.

Read moreLight bright airy restaurant with lots of windows and seating make this a great place to come for groups, families and singles. There is seating outdoors along the front of the building, and indoors several of the tables are gorgeous long live-edge wood with acrylic blue rivers down the centre. I have been here twice for cappuccinos and lattes with friends (well made), once for gelato in the evening with my husband (my hazelnut and his limoncello gelatos were fantastic) and once for lunch when we had delicious savory crepes with side salads. More people are now discovering Beninos so it can be crowded mid morning. There's a ramp up to the restaurant from the street or you can park in back so the restaurant is accessible for individuals with walkers or wheelchairs. In addition to sweet and savory crepes, they serve waffles, muffins and drinks like...

Store is big, lots of seating area, generally quiet, with big tables. Definitely good for study, hangout, play games together and more! Gelato and sorbetto are one of the best we tried so far in Vancouver Island, not overly sweet, and flavours are on point. I ordered Striacitella - one of my fave flavour after my trip to Italy. I am so glad to have stumbled this shop while driving around in the island, and found the flavour I love from Italy! Definitely bring...
