This was my second time eating here. First time I heard about this place was on Google or Yelp; their ratings were phenomenal and I was told that it was owned by a mom and pop. I love supporting small businesses so we popped in one night for dinner. The wife was very nice and she was trying to accommodate us because we brought our child there. As for the food, well it was not memorable and kind of bland. I've been spoiled with really good authentic Thai food before so I guess it's hard to satisfy my expectations. I just couldn't taste any spices in their food. Anyway that was more than a year ago. So few days ago, I decided to give them another chance. I ordered take out through DoorDash. The food arrived quickly! I had the lunch special chicken green curry with rice, salad, soup and spring roll. When I opened the box, there was a piece of thin black hair on the rice. I'm not too disgusted by this but still. The salad was wilted and warm because they put them in the same box as the rice. Spring roll was big. The soup tasted like sour veggie soup; I just took a sip and put it away. Keep in mind, I LOVE Thai soup but this time it tasted like sour water with no meat/bone/veg flavor. The green curry was diluted, it came with lots of veggies and only few pieces of chicken. I felt kind of ripped off but I guess for the price I paid I can't complain. But I would rather spend a couple dollars more for quality and quantity. Maybe they should not offer soup and just give me more chicken. I'm kind of sad that this place is a disappointment for me. But it seems like they're doing well so...
Read moreThey didn't seem to care to seat you when you come nor give you a table.. We basically had to go to the cash counter and tell her that we made a reservation she told me to wait in the cold outside with an infant (6 month) and a toddler(3yrs). There was a decent couple who offered us to give us their 4 seat table and move on to a small table..we then had to hunt for a high chair, all this while the hostess was nonchalantly walking around. Then after 20 mins age comes to take the order. She knocked my kids high chair whole walking around and tells us to move it inside even though there is no space. Really non professional. Didn't even check if the kid was ok.All she wad concerned was she tripped and there was led space. I enquire about y u e food as its ben 45 mins shone we placed the order. She tells me 5 Mins.
15 mins later still no food.
Our food arrives almost after one hour of placing the order, this is after reminding them again that the hostess that my kid is really hungry. Their speed seemed surprisingly fast on the take out orders
I start to eat I notice that in green curry the eggplant has a sticker the one that is usually on veggies. The veggies are not washed here. I could it eat the food. Since it is pretty clear they are not good at even basic cleaning of veggies.
It was a terrible experience. Definitely not coming back. They are understaffed, lacking basic hygiene and non professional.
Don't recommend this place. Don't waster...
Read moreWow! I just moved to Coquitlam and was looking for a Thai restaurant in my new neighborhood. I saw this place and thought I'd pop in for a quick dinner. The restaurant has a nice ambience with lots of windows, wood chairs, and very clean. The menu has an excellent selection of items, all the usuals, as well as a lot of really yummy looking fresh dishes from different parts of Thailand! I was in the mood for one of my favorites so I ordered spring rolls and the green curry. Honestly, this was one of the best green curries I have ever eaten. It was packed full of chicken and veggies, and really decent size serving. The spring rolls were delicious, pretty sure they were homemade, and the dipping sauce tasted homemade also (Not like some places that serve the really thick gooey stuff from a jar). I just needed to try the peanut sauce so finished off with the chicken skewers. Oh my gosh, so delicious and everything was so beautifully presented with little white dishes for the dipping sauces, and a fresh condiment of cucumber and red onion, pretty flower cut carrot and colorful puffed rice chip garnishes! The server was very sweet also, very pleasant service, and when I was leaving she explained to me that Khob Khun means 'thank you'....
