I came across this place on Google Maps because I was tired of having Sushi for the last few days. So I typed in the word “sandwiches“ and this place came up. The only reason I chose to go here was because of all the good reviews. When I entered I was drawn to this very rustic, but charming sandwich shop with what appears to be long-term customers. I was greeted by an older man and woman and just told me to holler at them when I am ready to order.
I ordered the BLT sandwich. While they were making it, I told them that I saw a lot of good reviews on Google maps about their establishment and they SCOFFED at my statement. I told them that it is a good thing that they have a lot of good reviews and they DOUBLED DOWN on scoffing at me and told me to get my face out of my phone and go and experience each restaurant for myself instead of relying on reviews I told them that I would never have even known that this place existed, as it is nestled in between a laundromat and a hair salon in the corner of a very small parking lot. I told them without it I would never have discovered this place, let alone all the good reviews. However, you cannot tell this couple anything about the Internet lol. They look at it as the devils playground from the way they were putting it down, despite all of their good reviews. I gotta tell ya - the couple has so much personality that I can overlook the fact that I was being told that what I am doing is incorrect. I can also overlook the fact that they are putting down all of their good reviews because I will tell you this… If I passed by this place on any given day, I would never give it a second thought, but because I chose to go in there and order my food, I can tell you that I will be going back there very soon!
They told me they have had Soup Plus for 23 years and plan to be there for another 35 years. If you want a no fuss, no muss place for a sandwich and a few baked goods then this is the place. Their bread is homemade, and they even went through the trouble of explaining why they choose to make their own bread as opposed to buying it wholesale . They put integrity and quality over profiting and I will take that any day over high volume output shop.
There are not a huge amount of choices, and when I ordered the BLT, they never asked if I wanted salt or mayo or if I had any kind of allergies lol. This was a straight up old school shop: you order what’s on the menu, you get what you get, and you...
Read moreI'd love to tell you how the food was but I can't. I left here today in tears! I'm visually impaired, the menu is printed on the wall behind I need to use my phone so I can zoom in to see. The lady yelled at me to put my phone away I was no allowed to use it in there. No picture no video. Ok np I'm visually impaired I can't see your menu I need my phone to zoom in to see. She continued to tell me no. I explained I'm blind I can not see and I have no problem to show her I'm not taking pics or video and the one I took of the menu ill dele. She was so rude and said she didn't care she would tell me what there was I had to put my phone away. I said no I use this as my adaptive wear so I'm not depended on others and I can live a higher quality life on my own! I Ghent told the person I was with I'm just going to leave. The man working said then I could use my phone it was fine. The lady still agreed no. I was getting emotional at this point and said no im leaving. The man said I said you can use it but I said no thank you after being treated Luke that and I just walked out. By now I'm to emotionally involved in this and shocked I'd rather go then continue. Frankly I was on the verge of crying and didn't want to in the store. Now looking back I could have asked if there was a menu on line ...it wasn't offered either..I see now there is. I was just in shock. I'm legally blind and I'm high functioning to which I have to work hard in and I make the most of all I cam so this incident really agfec5ed je. I was denied using my eyes basicly. It may seem little to someone who has good vision but these little things are how I can function on my everyday without depending on others. I felt helpless and humiliated. It has affected me all day then thinking should I write a review or just leave it. But why did this happen and why was I made to feel this way and why...sigh it just really really sucksd. Needless to day to bad I would have liked to try this place but I definitely won't...
Read morevery unpleasant. I went to buy fried chicken beside it, and the smell was really good, so I went into it to buy something they recommend. But I really regret of going into it, cause it ruined my lunch and my mood and my friend’s. the first unpleasant thing is they only accept debit card or cash, which I didn’t take. No Apple Pay and no credit card , so I had to go back to take my debit card to pay for it, which made me to go there twice for one lunch. but the second one came that I bought one tuna melt and one veggie melt, but they wrote wrongly on the two boxes, which lead to me ate the veggie one while tuna was for me. So for my friend who is a vegetarian, he had nothing for lunch. And I called them suggesting that they should make another veggie for me for free because they wrote wrongly on the boxes, and I can take back the tuna melt as it is, which shows that we didn’t eat it. But they say that , when I ate the tuna one I should find there is no tuna immediately, and switch immediately, and they can make another veggie but I have to pay for it,Well, yes, I didn’t tasted the tuna since the first bite, but I didn’t recognize that they wrote wrong for the two boxes, I just thought maybe there is little tuna, which didn’t taste or smell strong, so I didn’t think too much, and finished it. After I already finished it, my friend came to me with the tuna melt in the veggie box……this is the first time I come and will definitely be the last time. Not recommend. The photos are the tuna melt inside...
