A&W Canada — Restaurant in Cranbrook

I'm not happy with my experience here. We stopped in for breakfast and I asked if there were any specials. The girl behind the till looked at me like a deer in headlights and said, "All we have is what's shown above." I've been to other A&Ws that do have breakfast specials but fine, maybe they've discontinued them or this place doesn't have them. My wife starts to order for the kids and asks for "two orders of pancakes" to which the girl says, "You know they come with three pancakes?" Yes, we know - we looked at the picture you pointed us to and that's why she said "two orders". Anyway, we finish ordering, pay, and, before sitting, check the condiments for syrup. We don't find any. Fine, maybe they bring it with the pancakes. We wait for the food to come and there's no syrup. I go look again for some but still can't find any. When I ask the girl for some, she says they don't have any. You could have told us about the lack of syrup when we ordered rather than telling us how many pancakes are in the picture. The kids decide to eat them without anything (we asked if they wanted jam or something else) though. I sit down and start to eat my over easy eggs. They were over easy all right - not only were the yolks runny, so was the egg white on one of the eggs! At least the second egg was - I had already eaten the first before I noticed. Thanks for serving me raw egg A&W! By the way, are your bathrooms cleaned at least once a day? The amount of dried pee on the urinal makes me think they aren't (unless there's some early rising seniors with really bad aim - in which case, I strongly suggest you schedule someone to do a clean at 9am - don't wait for someone to tell you it's dirty). If we ever do come back next time we are in the area, I'll be more diligent about checking my food before eating it and ordering eggs a bit...

This was my third visit to this A&W, and unfortunately, every time, I’ve had a disappointing experience. First Visit: I placed an order, and they didn’t give me napkins. I thought it might be a mistake, so I let it go. Second Visit: I specifically asked for napkins and ketchup, but when I checked my bag after going through the drive-thru, they were missing again. To make things worse, after I had already left the drive-thru, a staff member came outside to tell me they forgot to charge me for one of the three meals I had ordered. Third Visit: This was the worst experience. We found a hair in our fries. When we complained at the counter, one lady apologized, but the other staff member who served us was extremely rude. She said, “It’s been sitting here for so long,” which made no sense. Was she implying that we put the hair in the fries ourselves? If this had happened just once, I would have ignored it, but after three bad experiences in a row, I’ve had enough. I won’t be coming back to this...

They are just not listening to you when you place your order. They changed my order, when i ordered a side of onion ring to go with my combo. The quality has taken a turn for the worst. It will be a long time before I go back. Which is too bad because A&W use to be a good place to go. Tried to talk to someone about my order and was left standing for about 5 minutes at the counter while employee served a friend and visited. And this is not the first time it has happened. The time before I had an employee who was at the end of her shift and couldn't wait for us to make up our minds. Stood taping her finger the whole time we were decided...
